Round 1
Up next is a women’s strawweight bout between Angela Hill and Jodie Esquibel. The referee is Alan Abeles. No touch of gloves. Esquibel takes the center of the Octagon and presses forward immediately. Hill lands a counter straight right. Esquibel lands a straight right of her own. Esquibel continues to move forward throwing a volume of punches but few of them are landing. Hill lands a counter left hook. Straight right by Hill. She lands a long jab. Esquibel moves forward to initiate the clinch but Hill shrugs her off. Left hook by Esquibel. Heavy kick to to the body by Esquibel but Hill catches the kick and throws her to the mat. Esquibel gets back to her feet. Hill with a flying knee to the body. Esquibel lands a short left hook. Kick to the body by Hill. Esquibel moves forward and changes levels for a double leg takedown but Hill stuffs it. Esquibel lands a knee to the body from the clinch and the round is over.

Round two begins. Esquibel moves forward but Hill lands a counter right hook. Esquibel with a left hook of her own. Kick to the body by Esquibel. Hill with a left hook. Hill with a jab. Esquibel with a straight right that appears to bloody the nose of Hill. Esquibel continues to push forward. Hill with an uppercut. Hill with a hard kick to the body. Overhand right by Hill. Esquibel pushes forward but is getting countered every time. Jab by Hill. They clinch and Hill lands some knees to the body and they break. Esquibel moves forward and Hill lands a counter right hook. Hill with another heavy knee to Esquibel. A kick to the body by Hill in the dying seconds and the round is over.

She lands a hard knee to the body. Another long jab by Hill. Now an overhand right by Hill lands. Jab by Hill. Left hook by Hill. She is just piecing up Esquibel at this point. Esquibel continues to move forward as the time winds down but Hill is countering her every time. Esquibel shoots for a single but Hill defends it. Hill lands a right hook. The 10-second clapper rings and Hill lands a knee to the body and the round is soon over.
