Perez missed weight by 0.5 pounds, so 20 percent of his purse will go to Shelton. Perez lands an outside leg kick. Shelton lands a right hand when Perez tries to close distance. A right hand connects for Perez. Perez sprawls on a Shelton takedown. He tries to take his foe’s back but ends up in Shelton’s full guard. Perez does a good job of maintaining top pressure when Shelton attempts to sweep. Perez drops a short elbow, and lands another moments later.
