Round 1
Gustafsson returns to 205 pounds after a brief stop at heavyweight in 2020 against Krylov, who has lost three of his last four. Marc Goddard will officiate the bout. Krylov drops Gustafsson with an overhand right during an early exchange. Gustafsson eats a series of knees as he returns to his feet, and the former title challenger is already in a world of trouble. Gustafsson clinches with Krylov to get a brief respite from the onslaught. Krylov breaks free and keeps his foot on the gas pedal.
Gustafsson catches a body kick only to get dropped by a short left hand in close quarters with Krylov still on one leg. Krylov stands over his fallen opponent and alternates left and right hands until Goddard steps in on Gustafsson’s behalf.
The Official Result
Nikita Krylov def. Alexander Gustafsson via TKO (Punches) R1 1:07
Angelo picks Nikita Krylov but is hesitant due to Gustafsson's two-year layoff and three-fight losing streak. He notes Krylov is well-rounded and has a good chin, but questions his fight IQ after the Paul Craig loss. He says the odds favoring Krylov are surprising and calls it a no-bet situation, expecting Gustafsson to look older and slower.
Big Brady picks Nikita Krylov to win by finish (ground and pound or submission in round 2). He is hesitant due to question marks about Gustafsson's layoff and motivation. He notes Gustafsson hasn't won in five years and hasn't fought in two years. Krylov is more active and dangerous, but if Gustafsson shows up motivated, it's a different fight.
Cody leans towards Alexander Gustafsson, citing that his losses are to top competition and he may have recaptured motivation after a two-year layoff. He notes Krylov has durability issues and tends to fade in later rounds. Cody thinks Gustafsson can use his mobility and grappling to neutralize Krylov and win a decision. He acknowledges there are many red flags but sees value in the underdog.
Daniel Levi confidently picks Nikita Krylov, arguing that Gustafsson is past his prime and has already retired once, saying he didn't have what it takes anymore. He notes that Krylov is only 30 and entering his prime, with a well-rounded game and a Kyokushin karate background. Levi acknowledges Krylov's occasional bonehead mistakes but believes he will outwork Gustafsson. He also mentions that he likes fading washed-up fighters and that Krylov is a motivated underdog in this spot.
Gustafsson looks in phenomenal shape and has a big skill advantage over Krylov. His takedown defense is 83%. Krylov's wins are over lesser competition. If Gustafsson is even 70% of his peak, he wins handily. However, motivation is a question mark, so I'm passing on betting but predicting Gustafsson.
Paul picks Alexander Gustafsson at plus money, calling minus 200 on Krylov ridiculous. He notes Gustafsson has looked horrible recently but his losses are to elite fighters. Paul admits he doesn't have the courage to bet Gustafsson confidently and will wait for weigh-ins. He says he won't bet money on it.
The MMA Guru picks Nikita Krylov to win by submission in the first or second round. He questions Gustafsson's reasons for returning and notes Krylov is underrated. Krylov put a pace on Ankalaev and has great stand-up. Gustafsson has poor ground game and has been submitted when taken down. Krylov will take him down and secure a submission.

Big Brady picks Gustafsson based on better cardio, speed, and striking advantage. He is concerned about Werdum's size and potential takedowns, but notes Gustafsson has good takedown defense. He calls the fight weird and says the line is too wide to parlay, predicting a decision win for Gustafsson.
Daniel is confident in Werdum as a plus-270 underdog. He argues the line is off because Gustafsson looked poor in his last two fights and retired after the Anthony Smith loss. He believes Werdum's takedowns and submission threat will be decisive, especially if the fight gets dirty and grimy. He notes Werdum had a full camp this time unlike his last fight.
Gustafsson has the striking advantage and good takedown defense, but there are too many question marks about his mental state after retirement and his layoff. Werdum looked poor against Oleynik and is 42. The under 2.5 rounds is attractive, but the moneyline is a pass due to uncertainty.
The MMA Guru picks Alexander Gustafsson to win by TKO, despite concerns about Gustafsson looking overweight and happy in interviews. He believes Gustafsson's speed and reach advantage will be too much for Werdum, who looked deflated after his USADA suspension. He predicts an early TKO.

Blachowicz puts a pair of jabs on Gustafsson in the first 30 seconds, opening a small cut underneath the Swede’s right eye. Gustafsson takes a few more punches to the face before pushing Blachowicz against the fence for a brief clinch. Both 205ers connect with punches in the next exchange, then Gustafsson comes back for another clinch on the cage. Blachowicz tries to land a left hook on the break, but Gustafsson ducks underneath. “The Mauler” touches Blachowicz with a long jab, then another that leaves Blachowicz swinging at air. Blachowicz comes inside to clinch and hits Gustafsson’s body with an uppercut, now a crisp knee. Blachowicz scores with a one-two and angles away before Gustafsson can connect with his counter. Gustafsson runs Blachowicz against the fence again and this time trips him to the floor. Blachowicz wraps up tight from the bottom, thwarting Gustafsson’s first wave of offense and then forcing the Swede to fend off an armbar. Gustafsson gets through with a pair of elbow strikes, snuffs out another armbar try and finishes the round on top.

Round 2
The light heavyweights are slinging hands in the opening moments of round two, but after absorbing a few punches, Gustafsson opts to change levels and drive Blachowicz to the floor. Blachowicz keeps a high guard, but the taller Gustafsson is able to posture up and score with elbow strikes which slice up the Polish fighter’s forehead. Gustafsson passes to side control, though only momentarily as Blachowicz quickly reclaims full guard. Blachowicz looks to be waiting for an armbar, but he can’t lock down Gustafsson’s arm, and the result is more topside offense for the Swede. A loose guillotine attempt from Blachowicz falls by the wayside as Gustafsson continues to gain momentum with his ground-and-pound. With 30 seconds left, Gustafsson stands over Blachowicz and looks for an opening to advance. Gustafsson nearly comes down in side control, but Blachowicz pivots and holds him in full guard to end the round.

Round 3
Gustafsson turns the head of Blachowicz with a hard overhand right, then backpedals away as Blachowicz throws a kick to the body. Blachowicz steps into the pocket and has his head rocked by a stiff jab. One minute into the round, Gustafsson wraps up Blachowicz and trips him back to the floor, once again setting up in the Polish fighter’s closed guard. Gustafsson mixes up his strikes on the floor, throwing elbows up top and punches to the body. All the while, Blachowicz is looking for an angle to apply an armbar, but he remains unable to lock down Gustafsson’s arms. “The Mauler” continues to grind away on top, keeping busy with hammerfists and grinding elbows. It’s not enough action for referee Marc Goddard, who brings the fighters to their feet with about 90 seconds left on the clock. The stand-up only lasts a few seconds, as Gustafsson blasts into another takedown attempt and drives Blachowicz back to the canvas. Blachowicz gets his head stapled to the mat with a heavy elbow strike, and now Gustafsson finally passes to side control. Blachowicz puts him right back in guard, and that’s where the fight concludes.

Big Brady picks the 43-year-old Teixeira despite age concerns, noting he has been counted out before and keeps winning. He highlights Teixeira's durability, having not been knocked out since 2017, and his excellent grappling and ground and pound. He questions Hill's takedown defense, as he was taken down six times by Thiago Santos. He thinks Teixeira can get takedowns and finish, but has low confidence due to Hill's power. He predicts a finish.
Cody picks Jamahal Hill but admits he is not super confident. He thinks Hill is one of the best strikers in the division with power and calmness, and believes Hill will clip Glover in the later rounds after giving up early rounds. He acknowledges Glover's massive grappling advantage and Hill's poor takedown defense, but thinks Hill's youth and striking will prevail. He suggests live betting Glover after losing early rounds.
Connor picks Jamahal Hill, citing youth, power, and the likelihood that Glover gets hurt and finished early. He compares it to the Anthony Johnson loss where Glover was iced in 13 seconds. Connor admits Glover is better everywhere but feels Hill's speed and one-two power could end it quickly. He acknowledges that if the fight goes past one round, Glover likely wins.
Paul picks Glover Teixeira but is very cautious, admitting bias because he loves Glover. He notes Glover's massive grappling advantage and great wrestling, but acknowledges he is long in the tooth and gives up speed. He sees arguments for both sides and is not betting pre-fight, but might bet live if things go well. He thinks Glover can win via grappling and top control.
The Guru picks Teixeira as an underdog. He rewatched Hill vs Santos and noted Santos took Hill down six times, and Hill gave up bad positions. Teixeira's grappling is superior, and he stayed in shape after a December fight was canceled. The Guru criticizes Hill's physique, saying he had a 'huge belly' in fight announcement videos. He predicts Teixeira will find a rear-naked choke in the second or third round, or possibly after rocking Hill on the feet.
Zane picks Glover Teixeira, arguing that Glover is a much better fighter overall—better striker, wrestler, and grappler. He notes that Jamahal Hill has poor defense, walks in straight lines, and has never faced a grappler of Glover's caliber. Zane believes Glover's improved boxing and ability to survive being hurt will carry him to victory, especially if the fight goes past the first round.

Angelo picks Glover, admitting bias but also providing objective reasoning. He notes Glover has multiple paths to victory (KO, submission, decision) while Jiri only has KO. He highlights Glover's takedown ability and Jiri's poor takedown defense. He believes Glover's chin will hold up and he can weather Jiri's early storm.
Big Brady picks Jiří Procházka to win by first-round knockout. He notes that Procházka has a significant advantage in striking power and reach, while Teixeira's chin is questionable at 42 years old. Although Teixeira has a path to victory via takedowns and ground control, Brady believes Procházka's unorthodox style and power will be too much.
Cody is torn on this fight. He acknowledges Glover's grappling and submission threat, but thinks Procházka's dynamic striking and youth will be too much. He notes Procházka's takedown defense is an unknown but expects improvements. He leans Procházka by KO, but plans to hedge with Glover if needed.
Daniel Levi picks Jiří Procházka but is very hesitant. He acknowledges the value on Glover Teixeira at plus money and admits he has been wrong on Glover many times before. He worries about Procházka's defensive liabilities and small UFC sample size, but ultimately leans on Procházka's unique style, speed, and finishing ability. He also mentions jet lag favoring Procházka since the Czech Republic is closer to Singapore than the US.
Procházka has dynamic striking and power, and Glover's head movement is poor. Glover's path is grappling, but Procházka's length and movement make it hard to take him down. Glover has been knocked out by rangy strikers before. I see Procházka winning by knockout, likely in the first two rounds. The under 2.5 rounds is a strong play.
Paul leans Glover by submission, citing Glover's superior grappling and top control. He questions Procházka's ground game and believes Glover will get a takedown and submit him. He notes Glover's chin issues but thinks his experience and BJJ will prevail.
The MMA Guru picks Glover Teixeira to win by first-round rear-naked choke. He believes Procházka has defensive flaws on the ground and gets hit often on the feet. He notes that many fighters have taken Procházka down, and Teixeira's grappling will be a major threat. He expects Procházka to be aggressive and switch stances, leaving openings for Teixeira's double-leg takedown. He mentions Teixeira's lack of damage in his last fight and championship experience as advantages. He admits he wants Procházka to win but thinks Teixeira has it.

At long last, the main event of UFC 267 is here. A Cinderella story himself, Blachowicz (28-8, 11-5 UFC) will look to keep an iron grip on his throne thanks to his renowned Polish power against fellow Cinderellian fighter Teixeira (32-7, 15-5 UFC). It is feel-good story on both counts between the 38-year-old Blachowicz and the 42-year-old former challenger Teixeira, but one will have to lose when it’s all said and done. Referee Marc Goddard is ready for wherever the fight takes him, and the light heavyweights show each other the utmost of respect, touching gloves before throwing down. Blachowicz leads the dance with a thumping leg kick, and Teixeira ducks down after a right hand to fake an ankle pick. Blachowicz does not bite, and instead kicks the lead calf again. Teixeira swarms with a few punches, and he charges in for a double and lifts the champion off the ground before slamming him to the mat. Teixeira, in the center of the cage, is tightly grasped by Blachowicz’ closed guard. Blachowicz holds on to not allow Teixeira to get off much in the way of ground-and-pound, and he sneaks up a short but effective elbow in a defensive blow. Teixeira calmly starts to work some strikes from on top, not forcing anything or allowing Blachowicz to gain any space to kick off or otherwise fight his way back up to his feet. Teixeira utilizes the can opener, grabbing Blachowicz on the back of his neck and wrenching his head up, in an effort to open the guard up. Blachowicz does not appear to appreciate this, but he does not loosen up his guard posture. The challenger hacks down with a few elbows, each of them landing loudly. Blachowicz stays on his back, riding out this position for most of the round without taking a great deal of damage. Teixeira latches on to the can opener one last time, and Blachowicz wriggles his neck free as the horn blares. When they stand up, Blachowicz acknowledges to Teixeira that the Brazilian won that round.

Round 2
The second frame begins as Blachowicz is tentative, jabbing out from a distance while not committing to follow-up strikes. Teixeira charges with strikes, and Blachowicz backs away and trips on the outskirts of the cage. When Teixeira ducks into a takedown after eating a body shot, Blachowicz pulls his leg out with all his might to get away. The Polish fighter scores a solid combination to make Teixeira pay for the try, and he dings him with a sharp uppercut. The Brazilian pursues a takedown, but Blachowicz is ready for this one this time, and he turns his foe around on the fence while starting to land some knees. Blachowicz pushes off and aims an uppercut, and he tries to time another when Teixeira shoots. The shots are more telegraphed, and as Blachowicz tries to counter with another uppercut, a looping left hand catches Blachowicz on the side of the head, hurting the champion. Instead of following up with the strikes, he pursues a single, and he manages to wrestle the champ to his back. Unlike the last round, Teixeira does not stay in guard for long, instead passing to mount like a hot knife through butter. Blachowicz eats shots from on top, and he turns over to surrender his back. Teixeira flattens him out instantly, and he grabs hold of a rear-naked choke and is ready to set the hook. Crushing the forearm grip with all his might, the choke does not even go under Blachowicz’ chin, squeezing the jaw like a vice. Knowing his time is up, Blachowicz surrenders and lives to fight another day. Unbelievable! At the age of 42, Teixeira is now a UFC champion, and he is the second-oldest champ in UFC history trailing only to Randy Couture at 45. As he says in his post-fight interview, promises done, and he comes home with the belt. He invites likely challenger Jiri Prochazka to the cage to face off with him, and he hopes to meet him in May. Prochazka does not join him in the Octagon, but he does pose in the crowd, excited for the opportunity. In a final moment of pure inspiration, the new champion tells people to never give up on their dreams. Next week, another pair of belts will be on the line at UFC 268 in New York, and we will be here for it. We hope you are too.
The Official Result
Glover Teixeira def. Jan Blachowicz R2 3:02 via Submission (Rear-Naked Choke)
Big Brady picks Jan Błachowicz to win by knockout. He believes Jan is the better striker and will hurt Glover, who is chinny at 42. Glover's path is takedowns, but Jan has excellent takedown defense (only taken down once in last 10 fights). He expects Jan to be calculated and not rush in, eventually knocking Glover out. He references Jan's performance against Adesanya.
Cody agrees Jan wins but disagrees on finish, thinking Jan is more of a decision fighter. He notes Jan's solid takedown defense, BJJ black belt, and cardio. He picks Jan but sees the fight going over 2.5 rounds, possibly a decision. He mentions Jan by decision is +300 but he's not confident in a finish.
Daniel picks Jan Błachowicz to defend his title, citing Jan's improved accuracy, timing, and ability to mix strikes and takedowns. He notes Jan's career turnaround and his wins over top competition like Dominick Reyes and Israel Adesanya. Daniel acknowledges Glover's dangerous ground game and toughness but believes Jan's composure and polish power will lead to a knockout. He emphasizes that Jan is a black belt and won't panic if Glover gets top position.
Błachowicz has Polish power and solid cardio, and he can stuff takedowns. Teixeira is slow and has been hurt in recent fights, relying on takedowns to bail him out. Błachowicz will find a knockout on the feet, likely in the first round.
Paul picks Jan Błachowicz by knockout, citing Jan's 'Polish power' and Glover's compromised chin. He notes Glover has been stunned in recent fights and thinks over five rounds Jan will crack that chin. He mentions the bet is a small play at +100 by KO, not a massive one.
The MMA Guru picks Jan Błachowicz to win by KO in the first round. He notes that Glover Teixeira is 41, takes damage in every fight, and has been dropped multiple times. He praises Błachowicz's takedown defense, finishing instinct, and reach advantage. He contrasts Błachowicz's composed finishing (separating and dropping hammer fists) with other opponents who rushed in and gave up position. He predicts Błachowicz will rock Glover, separate, and finish with hammer fists.

Big Brady picks Teixeira as an underdog, citing Santos' injury layoff and questionable losses. He thinks Teixeira has more paths to victory, including takedowns and submissions. He notes Teixeira's recent form and improved conditioning.
Daniel Levi leans toward Glover Teixeira as a betting pick, despite acknowledging Thiago Santos should be the favorite. He believes Teixeira's ground game is a huge edge; if he gets Santos down, the fight is likely over via submission. Levi notes that Santos is explosive and powerful on the feet, and Teixeira has been wobbled before, but he thinks Teixeira can take him down and submit him. He calls it a 'dog or pass' situation and picks Teixeira at plus money.
The host is very confident in Glover Teixeira at plus money, citing Thiago Santos coming off a severe ACL injury and a 16-month layoff. He believes Glover's durability, top pressure, and jiu-jitsu will be too much, especially in a five-round fight where Glover can drown Santos. He notes that Santos is not a one-punch knockout artist and that Glover has only been finished once in 3.5 years. He plans to wait for a better line, expecting it to reach +200.
The MMA Guru picks Thiago Santos to win by first-round TKO. He believes Santos is too dangerous in the first round and Teixeira has a habit of getting cracked early. He notes Santos's power and cardio, and that Teixeira cannot afford to take the same shots he took against lesser opponents.

Big Brady picks Anthony Smith, citing Smith's improved BJJ and cardio advantage. He believes Smith can survive takedowns and submissions from Teixeira, tire him out, and finish him in the later rounds (third or fourth). He notes Teixeira hasn't had a knockout since 2015-2016 and that Smith has not been knocked out since moving to 205. He plans to parlay Smith.
Daniel Levi picks Anthony Smith, noting that Smith is a dangerous finisher with length and a comeback ability, especially in five-round fights. He mentions that Smith can be losing but land a big knee or choke, and that Glover is older and smaller. However, he hesitates because Smith is a favorite and he prefers him as an underdog, but ultimately leans Smith catching a finish.
The MMA Guru picks Anthony Smith, citing that Glover Teixeira almost lost to Nikita Krylov and that Smith has great takedown defense and submission defense at light heavyweight. He believes Smith will use his pace to outwork the older Teixeira, who may slow down in the later rounds due to a poor training camp situation. He also mentions Smith's win over Volkan Oezdemir as evidence of his ability.

Twelve years separate these two light heavyweights, as the elder statesman Teixeira (29-7, 12-5 UFC) faces off against pure finisher Krylov (25-6, 7-4 UFC), with the latter never going the distance in 31 career bouts. Our referee for the co-main event is Yves Lavigne. After the two men touch gloves, Krylov leads off with a leg kick and then a push kick. Teixeira counters a body kick with an overhand left that just skims off the target, and after catching a kick the Brazilian sets Krylov down to the canvas. In half guard, Teixeira struggles to get his right arm free as he drops down right hands. Krylov pulls his legs up to consider a submission, and Teixeira pulls free to take mount before snagging Krylov's back. Flattening Krylov out for a moment, Teixeira drops some hammers while searching for a choke. As Teixeira strikes, Krylov stands up to buck Teixeira off him, and Krylov reverses the position to take full mount of the Brazilian. Krylov goes after an arm-triangle choke, but abandons it as they stand up. In a positional exchange, Krylov sinks in a rear-naked choke that is surprisingly tight, although Teixeira grits it out and survives the attack. As he gets back to his feet, Krylov tags him with an elbow on the break. Krylov sits down on another elbow that splits Teixeira right on the forehead, and he swings so hard he falls across the cage while laughing. Teixeira presses forward while "The Miner" catches Teixeira coming in, and the round ends.

Round 2
Krylov starts this second round with more leg kicks much like the first, as Teixeira is content to counter with an overhand right. Teixeira tries to catch a low kick for a takedown, but Krylov scrambles away. The Brazilian attempts to reply to a kick with a big right hand again, and none of them are landing cleanly. Teixeira stalks his man down, and he blasts the Ukrainian with a left-right that staggers him. Teixeira uses the momentum to go after a takedown, but Krylov evades the attempt and makes Teixeira pay for his efforts with a combination ending with a kick. The Brazilian continues to keep Krylov on his back foot, as he leaps in with a left to the body. A right hand finally finds its home from Teixeira, and Krylov replies with a body kick that Teixeira catches but cannot use to score a takedown. With Krylov circling away, Teixeira goads him on to come fight, and not drawing any attacks Teixeira plants a heavy body kick on "The Miner." A three-punch combination tags Teixeira, who responds with a takedown attempt that falls short. In the clinch, Krylov spins around to try to take down Teixeira, and after taking a few sharp elbows to the side of his head, he gets the Brazilian down to the canvas. In half guard, Krylov drops down a few short elbows, and the round expires.

Round 3
Krylov enters a rare third round in this fight, and once more the two men touch gloves. Teixeira sits down with a left-right that glances off the side of Krylov's head, and as Krylov leans in Teixeira drops down for a guillotine choke. "The Miner" digs his opponent's hands out and he gets out of the choke, and uses the positional advantage to take his back before flipping over and ending with his back against the fence. Teixeira pulls him down, and in half guard, he takes the crucifix position to fire a few punches before Krylov grabs his arm back. The Ukrainian retrieves full guard as Teixeira continues to rain down ground-and-pound. Teixeira takes mount briefly and Krylov escapes, but gives up his arm in the process. The Brazilian takes opportunity of this mistake and pulls for an armbar, although Krylov rolls out of it. Back to their feet, Krylov drops down for a takedown, and after trying to trip Teixeira he bails on the try. Krylov attempts a takedown again, and gives his neck up once more, with Teixeira going hard for the guillotine choke before Krylov pops his head out. Sitting in half guard, Krylov thumps Teixeira in the forehead with a few stiff elbows, and not a fan of this position, Teixeira sweeps his opponent with 10 seconds left. The horn sounds and the fight is over, and Krylov has now gone the distance for the first time in his career.
