Angelo likes Piera Rodríguez as the underdog. He highlights her nasty striking, calculated brawling, and good takedown defense. He notes that she does damage in defensive scrambles and has solid grappling defense if taken down. He believes there's something special in her style.
Big Brady slightly edges Rodríguez to win a volume-based decision on the feet, stuffing takedowns and working back up if taken down. He notes Rodríguez has power and improved takedown defense, while Hansen may struggle to get the fight to the mat. However, he has no confidence in this pick and will not bet it.
Cody takes Hansen as a slight underdog, noting she has scored takedowns in all her UFC fights. He thinks Rodríguez is hittable and not great at getting back up. Cody acknowledges Hansen's youth and inconsistency but believes her grappling can secure rounds. He calls it a 'dogger pass' situation.
Levi notes Kay Hansen has fought better competition and has a path to victory on the ground, but questions her mental commitment due to outside income. He favors Piera Rodríguez's crisp hands and knockout power for the weight class, and thinks the fight location (striking range) favors Rodríguez. He admits he is not confident and has no bet on it.
I lean Kay Hansen because she is showing improvements in her striking and has clearly better BJJ. She can mix in grappling and clinch work to get the fight to the ground and wear on Piera from top position. I think she can hold her own in striking but needs to mix in grappling to avoid getting touched up. I see her winning via decision or submission.
Paul leans towards Rodríguez but calls it a pass. He notes Rodríguez's physicality and striking, but saw her gas in her Contender Series fight. He thinks Hansen's grappling could be a factor but that Rodríguez's pressure might be too much. He picks Rodríguez for the show but with low confidence.
The MMA Guru picks Kay Hansen as an underdog, citing her experience and activity. He notes that Hansen picks up as fights go on, winning the second and third rounds. He expects a close split decision, possibly 29-28, and mentions that Hansen's name recognition might sway judges. He also points out that Rodríguez's output was low on the Contender Series.

We may have had a few stumbles along the way, but we made it to UFC 270 by hook or by crook. This event, one cut down to 11 fights, including X newcomers, will begin in the women’s flyweight division. Hansen (7-4, 1-1 UFC) will be making her way up a weight class after 15 months away, and she will be meeting Canadian debutant Jasudavicius (6-1, 0-0 UFC). Drawing the charge of the first fight of the evening is referee Jason Herzog, who watches on as the two ladies do not touch gloves to check in the night. Instead, Hansen comes out jabbing, pushing her opponent back right out of the gate before crashing in for a takedown. Hansen locks her arms around Jasudavicius’ body in an effort to hit a body lock with a trip, but Jasudavicius manages to stay upright on the first serious attempt. Hansen remains glued to her to go for the takedown, only for Jasudavicius to turn her around and start working the body and upper thigh with knees. Hansen sells out for a takedown as they come off the cage, but there is nothing doing and Jasudavicius makes her pay with a quick left hand. When they get back to striking range, Jasudavicius aims to get jabs going, snapping it out and utilizing her reach advantage to the fullest to keep Hansen at bay. Her strikes find their mark while Hansen comes up short, and she forces Hansen to charge ahead only to knee Hansen square on the jaw. Hansen eats it like a steak and backs out to boxing range, where Jasudavicius starts up again peppering her with jabs. Hansen closes in and strings together a three-punch without the soda, but she decides to order a takedown right after. Jasudavicius denies this to push her to the wall, and she uses Hansen’s momentum against her to plant Hansen on her back. Hansen twists in an effort to scramble her way back up, but any attempt to set something up off her back comes up short. Hansen lifts her legs up to go for a triangle or armbar, and Jasudavicius sees them coming and starts pounding on her with elbows to the face and body. Hansen struggles to find any offensive submission maneuvers, but she does lock Jasudavicius down for the most part to avoid the most dangerous of the attacks from above. Jasudavicius gets pushed off, but she climbs back into the guard to deliver a few elbows to Hansen’s face as the round comes to a close.

Round 2
The two flyweights wade out to engage to start off the second round, and Hansen manages to hop forward to tag Jasudavicius right off the bat. Jasudavicius backs off, measures her jab, and finds herself defending a quick takedown attempt when she leaves a body kick out too long. Hansen lands the takedown she had been seeking for the good part of the last round, and within seconds, Jasudavicius reverses her right when Hansen was aiming to claim mount. Hansen protects herself with her offensive guard, threatening with an armbar setup on Jasudavicius’ longer limbs. The Canadian starts to land some serious ground-and-pound as she jams Hansen in the corner between the cage and the floor, and Hansen is stuck without a way to utilize any rubber guard of merit. Jasudavicius comfortably remains in Hansen’s guard, where she batters Hansen with strikes that are forcing some swelling on Hansen’s face. A mouse grows on the corner of Hansen’s eye, and as Jasudavicius is landing strikes, Herzog stands them up unexpectedly. Hansen celebrates this by landing a single punch, and Jasudavicius backs off to stick out a jab. Hansen closes in with a spinning back elbow, nailing Jasudavicius on the jaw and knocking her back into the wall. From there, Hansen turns her forward momentum into a takedown try, only to get rebuffed and shoved against the wire. Jasudavicius stays busy, giving Hansen problems with elbows and body shots as Hansen’s face has turned from one of calm to one of discomfort. With 15 seconds left in the round, Jasudavicius trips Hansen down to the mat, and she pushes Hansen’s leg aside to elbow her in the face right before the bell.

Round 3
The ladies meet in the middle to kick off the last round, with Hansen’s first strike a high kick that is blocked with relative ease. Jasudavicius goes over the top with a solid right hand, and Hansen fires back with a similar strike. Hansen darts in and out with power strikes, landing cleanly and getting away before Jasudavicius can pay her back. Jasudavicius ignores a kick or two from Hansen to flick her jab out, successfully stifling Hansen’s offense. Jasudavicius fakes low to grab Hansen’s lead leg, before coming up top with a left hand. Hansen gathers herself and throws fire with a big left hook, and it glances off her opponent’s chin. Seeing the success of the blow, she doubles up on it, and Jasudavicius is flustered that her jab is not having the full effect as before. Hansen walks through another jab to pop the Canadian in the chops, but Jasudavicius does not appear concerned or take a backward step. Jasudavicius gets back to her jab, following one with a looping right hand to break things up. Hansen circles out on the outside to escape the length of her foe, and she skips forward to connect cleanly with a left hook. Hansen’s hands are having a more appreciable effect this round, and she fires off a left hand followed by two body kicks. Jasudavicius comes forward with a knee, and backs away before Hansen can set any takedown up. Hansen measures her range with a left hand, and Jasudavicius gets her back with a jab and a right hand of her own. Hansen keeps scoring her left hook to solid effect, and she ducks out of the way and just avoids a head kick that slaps her in the nose. The strikes from Jasudavicius appear to be doing enough damage to cause some blood to start flowing from Hansen’s nose, and the crowd gets loud in favor of their hometown fighter. Hansen appears fired up, throwing wildly and landing cleanly while Jasudavicius shakes it off and throws back. Jasudavicius tries to break things up with a takedown, but when it fails, she pushes forward to knee Hansen in the chest a few times. Jasudavicius pushes Hansen into the wall, knees her a few more times, and the 15-minute mark is reached.

Expert Picks (7)
Angelo leans toward Jasmine Jasudavicius, believing she wins the striking exchanges and her hips will be too good for Kay Hansen in scrambles. He notes Kay is more powerful and has better takedowns, but Jasmine's technical striking and hip control give her the edge. He picks the underdog Jasmine.
Big Brady picks Kay Hansen to win by third-round submission, citing her superior grappling (brown belt BJJ), improving striking, and cardio advantage. He notes Jasudavicius is an Olympic wrestler but has poor striking defense, bad cardio, and was reversed by a white belt (Elise Reed). Hansen is younger, has more fights, and has a significant advantage on the mat. He expects Hansen to submit Jasudavicius in the third round as she often finishes late.
Cody picks Kay Hansen, stating that Hansen is better in every facet: wrestling, boxing, cardio, and jiu-jitsu. He notes that Hansen is only 22 and has a chip on her shoulder after a controversial loss to Cory McKenna. Cody believes Hansen's submission skills are a threat, and he likes her submission prop at +450. He dismisses Jasudavicius as a 33-year-old debutant with no athletic background.
Daniel Levi picks Kay Hansen but is not confident about the betting line. He notes that Hansen has never been taken down in the UFC and has good grappling, while Jasudavicius is hittable and relies on top control. However, Hansen is moving up in weight and Jasudavicius is a big flyweight. Levi thinks Hansen's UFC experience and grappling will separate her as the fight progresses, but he is not crazy about the betting line.
The host believes Jasudavicius is being undervalued due to the 'fade contender series' narrative. He notes her reach advantage, striking edge, and improving grappling. He thinks Hansen's layoff and developing game will be issues. He expects Jasudavicius to win by decision, possibly by out-striking Hansen on the feet.
Paul picks Kay Hansen, noting her youth, submission skills, and experience against tough opponents. He questions Jasudavicius's durability and defensive liabilities. Paul also mentions that Hansen has a reach disadvantage but believes her overall game is superior. He likes Hansen by submission at plus money.
The MMA Guru picks Jasmine Jasudavicius as a big underdog, questioning why Kay Hansen is a heavy favorite. He praises Jasudavicius' contender series performance, cardio, and improvements at Syndicate MMA. He criticizes Hansen's inactivity and unimpressive wins, and believes Jasudavicius is technically better on the feet.

Big Brady picks Hansen because she is the better grappler and dangerous off her back, while McKenna gets taken down often. He expects the fight to hit the mat and Hansen to get a submission. He acknowledges the line is wide but favors Hansen's path to victory.
Daniel picks Kay Hansen, citing her size and strength advantage, as well as a five-inch reach advantage. He notes that Hansen's grappling is strong and she may get an extra takedown or submission attempt to sway judges. He acknowledges McKenna's solid skills and bright future but thinks Hansen's physicality and experience against tougher competition give her the edge.
The MMA Guru picks Kay Hansen by submission, specifically an armbar off her back. He notes that Cory McKenna got caught in submission positions on the Contender Series and that Hansen is more experienced with better competition. He believes McKenna will go for takedowns and leave herself open to submissions.

Expert Picks (3)
Big Brady picks Kay Hansen after watching tape, noting that Frey was unimpressive and has been knocked out twice and dominated on the ground. He likes Hansen's takedown-heavy style and thinks she can get Frey down and possibly submit her or win by ground-and-pound. He is concerned about Hansen's age (20) but still favors her.
Daniel Levi picks Kay Hansen, citing the stylistic matchup of striker vs grappler. He notes that Jinh Yu Frey struggled to get up from bottom against atomweights, so moving up a weight class may not help. Levi believes Hansen will mix in takedowns and control the fight on the ground, winning by decision. He also mentions that Frey lost to Jodie Esquibel, which is a negative indicator.
The MMA Guru picks Jinh Yu Frey, admitting he doesn't know much about the fighters but thinks Frey is better and has faced better competition. He notes Frey's experience as a champion in Invicta. He is not confident and calls the fight uninteresting.
