We kick off this somewhat earlier card in New Zealand with a women’s flyweight scrap between two women in dire need of a win. Dobson (3-3, 1-2 UFC) and Cachoeira (8-3, 0-3 UFC) have dropped their last five combined appearances inside the Octagon, and the referee for this streak-breaking bout -- barring a draw or no-contest -- will be Neil Swailes. Cachoeira comes out aggressively, stalking down Dobson while looking to time a right hand. She lands it, and the two engage in a quick flurry. The Brazilian tags her, so Dobson backs off.
Cachoeira keeps after her, and as she backs Dobson against the cage, “Pedrita” unloads an unexpectedly massive uppercut that clocks Dobson right on the jaw. In our imaginations, a man shouts “Toasty!” at the bottom right of the screen, and Swailes dives in to rescue the borderline-conscious Dobson.
