View on SherdogBETTING PREVIEW | SCOUTING REPORT | ODDS: Medic (-400); Urbina (+300)
Round 1
Anchorage, Alaska, native Medic (10-3, 4-3 UFC) has not quite put things together yet in the UFC, even if all four of his wins thus far are by knockout. To try to bounce back from his first knockout loss, “The Doctor” draws BMF Ranch trainee Urbina (7-3, 1-2 UFC). The third man in the Octagon for this welterweight clash is referee Mark Smith, who stands back to allow the competitors to meet in the middle without bumping fists.
Urbina introduces himself with a huge right hand that sends Medic flying, and the Alaskan jumps back up and gathers his thoughts. Urbina does not try to finish the fight, instead allowing Medic to kick at him so he can respond with a hard body kick.
Medic splits the guard with a heavy left, and he drives a knee into the chin. Medic sits down on a piston-like left hand, and the mulleted Urbina ducks directly into the blow and is completely knocked out.
Medic gets off one more big hammerfist before Smith rushes in to call it. “The Doctor” is in as actual doctors rush into the cage to tend to the unconscious Urbina, who is sprawled out on the mat like a starfish. Urbina manages to come to after some time, and he needs to be helped up but otherwise appears ok beyond needing to be checked for concussion protocols. Meanwhile, that is five knockouts for Medic’s five wins in the UFC thus far, and his 100% finish rate remains sparkling.
The Official Result
Uros Medic def. Gilbert Urbina R1 1:03 via KO (Punch)
Angelo picks Uroš Medić but hates the odds at -350. He notes Medić is a technical striker with 100% finish rate and killer instinct, but his takedown defense is low. Gilbert Urbina is a grappler with high output but poor striking defense. Angelo thinks Medić will win because strikers are having more success, but the odds are too wide for his liking.
Big Brady is confident in Uroš Medić, citing his 100% finish rate and legitimate striking power. He criticizes Gilbert Urbina's chin, noting he was dropped multiple times by Tawn Gore and knocked out by Charles Raki. Brady believes Medić is a much better striker than Raki and will knock out Urbina early. He predicts a first-round knockout for Medić.
Connor picks Urbina because he thinks Medić's game has been figured out after getting wrecked a few times, and Urbina might not give him respect. He notes Urbina's cage wrestling and good riding skills from his win over Cosce.
Despite not being a big fan of Medic, the host sees this as a winnable fight and expects it to be violent. He thinks Medic will consistently crash the pocket and produce car crashes that could result in a finish, leading him to pick Medic by knockout.
The MMA Guru picks Uroš Medić over Gilbert Urbina, noting that Urbina's height is likely misreported and he lacks presence. He believes Medić has better offensive skills and finishing potential, and that his losses are to higher-level opponents. He predicts a TKO win for Medić.
Zane picks Medić because he is dynamic on the front foot and fast, and Urbina is not a pressure fighter. He notes Medić's tendency to put himself in bad positions but thinks Urbina will give him early opportunities.

Round 1
Welterweights Urbina and Radtke kick off the main card, with Mark Smith set to oversee the proceedings. Both men are in orthodox stance. Urbina gives ground as Radtke stalks forward. Urbina scores with a sharp low kick. Radtke’s left hand is cocked, looking for his lead hook. Urbina chips away with more low kicks, then moves laterally as Radtke tries to maneuver him into the fence. Radtke’s jab scores, then lands again. Urbina comes forward with a takedown attempt, shoving Radtke all the way across the cage, but gives up on it. Radtke lands a glancing left, then a hard short right. Urbina switches stances, lands a low kick and switches back. Urbina eats a solid left hook. Radtke throws a left kick that lands low. Urbina takes a moment to recover. When they resume, Radtke goes right back with the same kick and lands to the leg as intended.
Radtke catches Urbina with a clean left that drops him in place. Urbina recovers, popping back up, but when they converge Radtke blasts him with another left hand. Urbina goes down again and this time, Smith jumps in to save the Texan.
Big power on display from “Chuck Buffalo.”
The Official Result
Charles Radtke def. Gilbert Urbina R1 4:47 via TKO (Punches)
Angelo picks Gilbert Urbina, citing his cardio and pace as key factors. He notes that Urbina's takedown defense is a concern but believes his early pace will be too much for Radtke. He has Urbina in a parlay but only one bet to avoid overexposure.
Big Brady picks Charles Radtke to win by second-round submission. He notes that Urbina's last win came against a compromised Orion Coy, and he has questions about Urbina's durability and cardio. Radtke has power in his hands and solid defensive grappling. Brady expects Urbina to have early success with takedowns, but Radtke will find the chin and knock him out. He thinks people are overrating Urbina and underrating Radtke.
Cody picks Urbina, criticizing Radtke's limited skills and poor performance against Blood Diamond. He notes Urbina's youth, size advantage, and improving striking and wrestling. He expects Urbina to win by decision or late finish.
Urbina has range management and a strong top game, and should be able to grind out a finish. However, Radtke is a live underdog with good wrestling and power, and there are questions about his gas tank and durability. The host is not super confident but picks Urbina to win inside the distance.
Paul picks Urbina, highlighting the size difference and Radtke's inability to push around a bigger fighter. He notes Urbina's losses are to solid prospects and expects him to handle Radtke's pressure.
The MMA Guru picks Gilbert Urbina over Charles Radtke, predicting a second-round finish. He criticizes Radtke's performance against Blood Diamond, calling it pathetic, and compares Radtke to Ryan Koischeck. He believes Urbina will have similar success as he did against Koischeck, and notes Urbina's only losses are to Brian Battle and Sean Brady.

View on SherdogBETTING PREVIEW | SCOUTING REPORT | ODDS: Cosce (-120), Urbina (+200)
Round 1
The first of a pair of unplanned catchweight contests is on the docket, when a welterweight matchup between Cosce (8-1, 1-1 UFC) and “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 29 finalist Urbina (6-2, 0-1 UFC) went awry after the former missed weight by a pound and a half. Urbina, the brother of ex-UFC fighter Hector Urbina and up-and-comer Elias Urbina, will gladly accept 20% of Cosce’s purse and the chance to fight a potentially compromised Cosce. The fight begins when Cosce offers an apologetic glove touch in front of referee Kerry Hatley, and Urbina accepts it. The two, in alternating stances, paw their hands at one another, until Cosce surges into action with a blitz. Urbina dodges the strikes and backs away, and Urbina appears to catch him with a left hook to drop Cosce to a knee. Urbina tags his man with a few more punches, and Cosce retreats. Urbina gives chase and ties him up to drill several knees to the body, and he lets go so that he can do more work with his hands. Cosce tosses out a low kick for a range-finder, and Urbina replies with a front kick and narrowly misses a left hook. Cosce whiffs on a big right hand, allowing Urbina to jab to the body and back him away with a jump knee. A huge left hand from “Galaxy” blasts into Urbina’s chin, and Urbina wears it well and takes another in rapid succession. Urbina drives a knee to the chest, and he changes levels in pursuit of a single. Lifting Cosce all the way up off the ground, Urbina slams his man down. Urbina moves to a better position to drop down right hands, and Cosce scrambles to work his way up. Urbina lands a mat return shortly thereafter, and he secures full mount when landing. Cosce thinks about turning around, but Urbina threatens him well enough and flattens him out. Urbina rains down a barrage of vicious elbows, and Hatley is taking a close eye on the matters. Urbina shifts to side control and drills Cosce with a few more punches for good measure. Urbina shifts back to the mount so that he can soften Cosce up with more blows, and Cosce bucks and kicks but cannot get the Texan off of him. Urbina sets up an arm-triangle choke, and he squeezes with all his might while in mount and moves his leg to pin Cosce’s left arm down. Urbina bails on it to posture up and hammer Cosce with punches, and he is warned repeatedly for punches to the back of the head while Cosce is turning. Cosce works towards his stomach, and Urbina batters him all the way to the bell.

Round 2
The fighters meet in the middle, and Cosce strikes first with a high kick that is blocked. Urbina responds with a front kick that Cosce slaps away, and he misses with two straight punches. Urbina stays active with kicks, and he is backed to the fence with punches but does not eat one. Urbina lunges with a right to the body, and Cosce is out of the way in time. Cosce reaches out with a right hand, and it bounces off the shoulder to no effect. Both men appears to have lowered their intensity, as Cosce slaps a low kick that Urbina turns with. Urbina’s offense has lulled, and Cosce is not much more active. Urbina scores a jab and a front kick, and he steps in with a knee but does not release it. A body shot from Urbina draws a bad reaction on Cosce’s face, and Urbina sees it and slowly walks him down. Cosce attempts to back him off with a high kick, and he recovers enough to jab with a right to the body.
Urbina counters with a right and a front kick, and the ball of his foot lands square on the potentially compromised ribcage of his opponent. Cosce grunts in pain and doubles over, and Urbina knows the finish is right around the corner. Urbina latches on to Thai plum, and he drives a pair of knees on the dome to drop Cosce to the floor. Hatley waves the fight off
, seeing that Cosce has nothing more to offer, with the body shot taking all of the wind out of his sails. This comeback is a big deal to Urbina, who is back in his standard weight class of welterweight and sends a message to whomever he will be fighting next.
The Official Result
Gilbert Urbina def. Orion Cosce R2 2:55 via TKO (Front Kick and Knees)
Angelo picks Orion Cosce because he believes Cosce can get takedowns and his takedown offense is better than Urbina's takedown defense. He notes Cosce's poor fight IQ and striking, but thinks he can grind out a win. He plans to bet on Orion to have more takedowns when the prop lines drop on Friday.
Big Brady picks Orion Cosce to submit Gilbert Urbina in the third round. He notes that both fighters have questionable cardio, but he trusts Cosce to push through fatigue better. He sees Cosce as the better wrestler who can mix in takedowns and wear on Urbina, eventually getting a late submission. However, he admits he doesn't trust either fighter completely and calls it a low-level fight.
Cody thinks Cosce has a clinch advantage and better wrestling, but his cardio is a concern. He expects a close fight that could go either way, but leans Cosce due to his physicality. He is not confident and calls it a greasy fight.
Connor also picks Cosce, agreeing that he is a better athlete and more coordinated. He points out that Urbina gets tired and runs out of ideas, while Cosce maintains consistent power wrestling. Connor expects Cosce to win the first round and then both fighters to fall off, but Cosce will have the lead.
Daniel Levi picks Orion Cosce based on a coin flip, calling both fighters 'frauds.' He notes Cosce has more wrestling but gassing issues, while Urbina is more dangerous but can't wrestle. He is not confident and says he is passing on betting this fight. He leans Cosce because the coin said so.
The host picks Gilbert Urbina as an underdog, citing his more complete skill set including better striking, jiu-jitsu, and wrestling. He thinks Urbina's activity off his back could lead to a submission, and he expects the pace to force Cosce to slow down. He likes the under 2.5 rounds and predicts a submission in the second round.
Paul picks Urbina to be different, citing a potential edge in cardio and length. He acknowledges both fighters are unreliable and that the loser may be cut. He is not confident and will not bet.
The MMA Guru picks Orion Cosce, citing his wrestling and grinding style. He notes Cosce's loss to Blood Diamond is not disqualifying, as Philip Rowe is a good fighter. He questions Gilbert Urbina's UFC caliber, suggesting he may not deserve to be there, and also raises concerns about Urbina's weight cut and conditioning. He expects Cosce to grind out a decision over the rounds.
Zane picks Cosce, describing him as a slightly better athlete and more consistently putting himself in strong positions with good leverage for throws and lifts. He notes that Urbina is not very coordinated and lacks natural athleticism, and that Cosce's power wrestling game should prevail. Zane expects an ugly fight but sees Cosce winning the first round when fresh.

The second scheduled TUF finale comes at middleweight, although the two rightful finalists are not in it. Instead, Battle (5-1, 0-0 UFC), who won on his side of the bracket, faces late replacement Urbina (6-1, 0-0 UFC) as former finalist Tresean Gore blew his knee out. Battle will look to prove it does not matter who his opponent is to win the contract, while Urbina is gunning for an upset in this unexpected opportunity. Referee Herb Dean is the third man in the cage for the co-main event, and the gloves are touched before violence ensues. Battle paws out several inaccurate punches, and Urbina finds the target with several blows in response. Battle kicks out with several front kicks, and Urbina gives chase and pounds him in the chops with several right hands. Battle stumbles to the fence, where Urbina follows him and drags him on the ground to keep hitting him. Urbina considers a submission before abandoning it to smash Battle in the face with an elbow. Urbina continues to swarm Battle as he takes full mount, briefly thinking about a choke before once more lighting Battle up with ground-and-pound. Battle is in a bad way from this battle so far, but he fights his way back to his feet and eats a clean knee right on the jaw that ejects his mouthpiece. “Pooh Bear” marches forward to get his own offense going, with several kicks at range to keep Urbina at bay. Dean does not recognize that the mouthpiece is gone and Battle is not concerned, as he rings Urbina’s bell with an overhand right. Urbina crashes forward to clinch with him, and Battle keeps his balance and an underhook to thwart a double leg takedown. Urbina redoubles his effort, picking Battle up in the air and trying to toss him down, but a cheeky fence grab allows Battle to stay upright. Battle begins to take punches with no mouthpiece in against the fence, but he turns Urbina around and swings elbows. The two start swinging, and Battle steps in with a right hand to initiate the clinch on his own. Urbina returns fire with punches on the inside, ignoring an elbow on the mouth as the round ends and Battle retrieves his gumshield.

Round 2
Both men lead off with long, straight punches, and Battle follows one with a head kick. “Pooh Bear” gets Urbina’s attention with a combination, and he plants his shin on Urbina’s midsection. Urbina scores a right hand and shoots in for a takedown, managing to circle around and take Battle’s back standing up. Urbina looks to jump on like a backpack, and Battle stops this and turns about. Urbina drills him in the face with several crisp elbows, and when Battle fires back, Urbina ducks down for a double. Battle stops him, elevates Urbina with his own double leg takedown, and plants Urbina on the canvas. Battle he takes the replacement fighter’s back with a hook in, and he starts searching for a rear-naked choke.
Battle snakes his arm on the chin, and he squeezes with all his might as visions of UFC contracts dance in his head. The crushing vice grip of a choke that might actually be on the chin and partially a neck crank torques Urbina until Urbina has to surrender.
With an impressive comeback win, Battle finds himself as the middleweight victor of Season 29 of TUF, and he celebrates with a loud f-bomb for his first word on his post-fight interview. Only the coaches' battle of Alexander Volkanovski vs. Brian Ortega at UFC 266 in September looms to close the book on this rebooted season of the combat reality show.
The Official Result
Bryan Battle def. Gilbert Urbina R2 2:15 via Submission (Rear-Naked Choke)
Angelo picks Battle, citing his striking volume, head kicks, and takedown defense. He notes Urbina lost in the semifinals due to striking and that Battle is the better striker. He placed a 2-unit moneyline bet, which is rare for him.
Cody picks Battle, noting he looks like the bigger middleweight with solid takedown defense and clinch work. He contrasts Urbina's sporadic career and poor performance against Trashon Gore, where he was dropped by jabs. Cody believes Battle's generalist skills and experience from fighting frequently give him the edge, and he expects a decision win.
Jacob reluctantly picks Battle, saying he doesn't think either fighter is very good. He notes Battle was getting outgrappled before finding a D'Arce choke, and Urbina got dropped in his last fight. He expects a sloppy mess but gives Battle the edge due to his ability to get back to his feet.
Lock picks Battle by decision at +210, believing Battle will grind out Urbina over 15 minutes. He notes Battle's grappling and striking progression, and thinks Urbina is tentative and low-volume. Lock is concerned about Battle's power but thinks he can outpoint Urbina. He likes the over 2.5 rounds as well. Lock considered Battle as a potential lock of the night but wants more data.
Paul agrees with Battle, emphasizing that Urbina is the smaller man moving up and has limited skills. He notes Battle's ability to mix striking and wrestling, and that Urbina's chin looked suspect against Gore. Paul thinks Battle is the clear pick and will likely win by decision or TKO.
The Guru picks Bryan Battle to finish Gilbert Urbina, noting Battle's rapid improvement and Urbina's lack of preparation. He mentions that Urbina was knocked out on TUF and is taking the fight on short notice. The Guru predicts a third-round submission for Battle, as he trusts Battle's finishing ability over Urbina's durability.
