Round 1
A potential women’s bantamweight title eliminator will serve as the co-main event of this Apex extravaganza. The winner of six straight, Dumont (13-2, 9-2 UFC) will throw down with
Sherdog’s 2025 Ms. All-Violence
Edwards (17-6, 8-4 UFC), and we can only hope some fireworks ensue before it is all settled. The Octagon ranger for this high-stakes 135-pound offering will be referee Jason Herzog, who bears witness to a glove touch.
Both women stay on the outer edge looking to pick their shots with kicks. Edwards finds a way in and throws fire with a fast flurry of punches. Dumont shrugs them off but is forced to fight off her back foot, with the Panamanian advancing behind a jab and a sharp two. Edwards connects with a solid low kick and jacks Dumont in the jaw with a right hand. Dumont grabs hold of her, bell rung, and hurls Edwards to the floor with an unorthodox body lock from the side. Edwards bounces back to her feet as if she had springs in her shorts, and Dumont leans against her on the fencing. Edwards turns her foe about and starts kneeing her in the thigh.
Dumont fires back with knees to the stomach, and Edwards drops to her knees to grab hold of a double. She isolates Dumont’s leg and is nearing completing it, but Dumont regains her footing. Dumont uses the leverage against her foe, body locking Edwards down to her back. In the open cage, Dumont lands on top in half guard, pinning the Panama native to the mat. Dumont uses her left shoulder to press down on Edwards’ windpipe, possibly setting up an arm-triangle choke. Edwards elbows from her back, and she bucks and twists when Dumont jumps into mount. Edwards bursts all the way through to flip Dumont over, but Dumont clings to her mightily to not give her any space to break out and stand back up. Edwards lifts Dumont up in the top position and slams her down chest-to-chest, and the round ends with the ladies high-fiving.

Round 2
The first strike thrown in the second round is from the Brazilian, as is the second and third. Two low kicks and a jab come from her, prompting Edwards to return fire with similar strikes. Edwards works the lead leg and stands back to check a response. Dumont turns her hips into a heavier kick, so Edwards does the exact same. It is tit-for-tat as they engage with single strikes, with Dumont trying but failing to break up the pattern a few times with a one-two or a second kick behind the first. Edwards is content to kickbox at range, with both women not committing fully to their swings. Edwards tosses out a feeler of an overhand right, and she uses a knee shield to block one of two front kicks aimed at her. Dumont chips at the front leg and sways back, but Edwards catches up to her and delivers a front kick to the belly. Edwards secures a jumping switch kick that draws an involuntary smile out of her foe.
Dumont aims back a body kick with a lot less mustard on it, and she leans back when Edwards zings an overhand right at her. Edwards is stuck throwing single strikes, but she is starting to put something behind them. Dumont blocks a jumping kick again that bounces harmlessly off the guard. Dumont slips a punch and returns with one over the top, and Edwards nods at her and charges with an overhand right. Dumont gives back two to the body and one upstairs, and Edwards takes the cue and makes Dumont smile giving a trio of strikes right back. It is an asymmetrical mirror match at this point, with Edwards a day late and a dollar short even if she still remains in the bout. Edwards absorbs a body kick and considers taking the fight down from it, bullying the Brazilian to the fencing to knee her in the stomach and thigh. Edwards concludes the round with a sharp elbow upstairs.

Round 3
The women high-five and hug to open up the last stanza, and they pick up where they left off taking turns with single strikes. Dumont lands a powerful body kick, and this lights a fire under the Panamanian. Edwards explodes her way in, bloodying the bridge of Dumont’s nose with a fast flurry of fists. Dumont circles away after absorbing a body kick, and Edwards spins after her with a body kick. Edwards doubles up on a low kick to body kick, scoring the second and jabbing to keep Dumont at bay. Dumont whiffs on a pair of high kicks, and Edwards darts after her but pulls back before engaging. Edwards kicks her foe in the stomach and goes to the front leg after it, blinking out when Dumont jabs her in the nose. Edwards cleanly connects on the jaw, backing Dumont off in a hurry. Dumont circles away and tries to counter, but all she can do is parry some of the blows.
When Edwards sits down and throws, she gets Dumont’s attention regularly. The threat of the grappling takes Edwards out of her game for minutes at a time. The two clinch up, and Dumont delivers a bouquet of knees to the body to force a separation. Edwards backs to the center of the cage and puts her hands on her hips as if to draw Dumont into a trap, but when Dumont does not bite, Edwards chases her down like before. Edwards stalks after the Brazilian with single, effective strikes. Edwards keeps her hands on her hips when not hurling punches, and she puts a crisp three-punch salvo on Dumont’s jaw. Dumont smiles and blocks the head kick that comes after. Edwards jogs in place before pursuing Dumont, and she kicks into a spinning back fist that bumps into the knot on top of Dumont’s hair. Edwards drills her opponent with a spinning back elbow, and she keeps swinging right to the bell. They embrace for a while after the full 15 minutes elapse.

The Official Result
Joselyne Edwards def. Norma Dumont via Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27)
Angelo leans on Norma Dumont, calling her the far cleaner striker. He acknowledges that her takedown defense is worse than it should be and fears some MMA karma from her last decision win. He notes that Joselyne Edwards does a good job sneaking in takedowns but doesn't like pressure. He believes Dumont's hands are much better and she will stay more mobile.
Big Brady picks Norma Dumont over Joselyne Edwards (referred to as Josiane Nunes). He believes Dumont is better everywhere, with takedown ability, clinch work, and striking. He notes Edwards' wins are against lower-level competition and expects Dumont to win by decision, though the money line is getting high.
The host believes Dumont should win as she is better everywhere: more technical striker, better MMA grappler. Edwards has an advantage in cardio but is on short notice and has bad fight IQ. Dumont can be passive but Edwards has similar issues. The host sees no interesting betting opportunities in fight spreads or over/under.
James picks Norma Dumont, believing she is a level above Edwards with superior boxing. He thinks Edwards' path via takedowns is unlikely due to Dumont's takedown defense and Edwards' inconsistent wrestling. He predicts a decision win.
James picks Norma Dumont as his Hammer of the Week, calling it a 'levels fight' despite the -200 price. He argues Dumont is better everywhere: striking, wrestling, and grappling, with superior competition and fight IQ. He notes Dumont is the best boxer in the division and can stuff takedowns, while Edwards has only beaten low-level opponents and lacks a plan C when her A and B fail. James expects Dumont to win via decision, as finishes are rare in women's MMA at this level.
Edwards is on a four-fight winning streak with improved grappling and finishing ability. Dumont is on a six-fight winning streak but has looked less dominant against better competition and is hittable. Edwards has a reach advantage and can use her kickboxing and grappling to outwork Dumont. She should be able to secure a submission win, especially at plus odds.

Round 1
In the previous match, two athletes vied to save their place on the ever-churning roster. In this fourth fight of the evening, the promotion decided to plug in the most relevant matchup of the whole card, as the winner of this bantamweight pairing will most likely be closest to the next title shot come Monday. While Brazil’s Vieira (15-4, 9-4 UFC) already came up short against champ Kayla Harrison, perhaps it would change should they lock horns for five rounds. Standing in her way of all that is “The Immortal” Dumont (12-2, 8-2 UFC), who has heard the final bell in nine straight outings. Whether they make it 10 straight for the streaking Dumont or get out of their early, referee Mark Smith will handle the necessities from here. There is a sporting clap of hands that precedes the action.
Dumont moves to the center of the cage standing as tall as she can, and she hand-fights a pawing Vieira who is just looking for her range. At 40 seconds in, Vieira finally commits to a strike, albeit a leg kick. Dumont responds immediately with one of her own. Vieira sits down on another calf kick to disrupt her opponent, and Dumont says “two can play that game” and gives it back any time Vieira lands on her. They trade hands from up close, drawing a smile out of Dumont as if she felt Vieira’s power and was not concerned. Vieira darts in behind her jab, and the two are just picking and poking at one another with single strikes. Vieira scores first, and Dumont comes back at her.
“Fenomeno” looks for her right hand several times, but Dumont is able to see them coming in time and avoid them. Leg kicks are traded, and Dumont doubles up on a heavy one. Vieira rushes forward, banging into Dumont and forcing her to awkwardly rebound during a takedown effort. Vieira uses the momentum to drag Dumont down, where she takes her back and looks for a rear-naked choke. Dumont flips over to her back to break up the sub, so Vieira transitions to an arm-triangle choke. Dumont once more twists to get out of the worst of it, so Vieira readjusts and presses her shoulder down to complete the sub. Vieira laces her leg between Dumont’s to give her more leverage to crush her shoulder down, and Dumont stays calm and punches Vieira in the side until the round ends.

Round 2
The round begins with kicks, with Vieira throwing first and last. Dumont hurls a one-two her way, and Vieira is not standing there any longer to get hit. When Dumont does reach her with a right hand, Vieira strafes to the side to reset. Dumont is one-and-done with a kick, and Vieira leans in to score and then leans back. Dumont starts to put more than one strike together in her attacks, sometimes doubling or tripling up on offense or stringing a few back-to-back. Vieira nails the inside leg a few times, prompting Dumont to pitch one back on the outside. Vieira checks the second, and they go tit-for-tat with these strikes for a time.
Vieira leaps forward and gets caught with a right hand from Dumont, and she shoots in from a double from too far out. Dumont shuts it down, so Vieira backs off and tries again from another angle. This time, she puts Dumont on her back with about 1:45 left in the round. Like a snake slowly coiling around to consume its prey, Vieira calmly slithers through to advance to half guard and pursue an arm-triangle choke. This takes a great deal of time to get there, so before she can cinch anything up, the second round is over.

Round 3
The top contenders reach the final frame, and they approach one another in it like the previous two. Dumont moves forward but is generally cautious, and Vieira stays defensively composed from most of what comes her direction. Dumont pushes the action with a storming right hand, colliding with Vieira and putting them on the fence. Vieira quickly turns her foe around, where she imposes her body weight on the streaking Dumont. She leans on Dumont for a time, until Smith calls for them to do more.
Dumont separates first, and she lets loose with her hands. Reaching out with a left and a right, and she looses this two-punch flurry again and again. Vieira stays on the outside edge with her guard high, and Dumont goes to the body when the hands of her foe are up. Dumont swarms forward behind a low kick to open up punches, and she lands cleanly in the midst of her combinations. Vieira is fine to stay on her back heel offering counters and the occasional kick as time ticks off, as Vieira likely expects she is up on the scorecards. Dumont is fighting like she needs the finish, in terms of her own style. She does not bite down on her mouthpiece to bang it out, and she does not point to the ground to force a brawl, but instead remains at kickboxing range leaning in and out to attack. The slow, arduous bantamweight match comes to an end, and both women raise their arms in the air. Could it go either way?

The Official Result
Norma Dumont def. Ketlen Vieira via Split Decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)
Angelo picks Norma Dumont confidently, citing her technical striking, patience, and takedown defense. He notes Ketlen Vieira is bigger but slower and less technical, relying on cage control. He thinks Norma's speed and accuracy will be too much, and expects a decision win. He is very confident in Norma but doesn't see many points in DFS due to a lack of finishes.
Big Brady picks Norma Dumont, noting she looked great in her last fight against Aldana with faster hands. He acknowledges Ketlen Vieira has elite takedown defense but believes the fight will stay standing, where Dumont is the better striker. He predicts a decision win for Dumont.
Connor agrees with Zane, noting that Dumont is a sharpshooter who can even things up with one hit. He thinks Vieira is not capable of putting pressure on Dumont, and if the fight is a coin flip, Dumont has the edge because she can push a pace Vieira never has.
Lucrative James picks Norma Dumont, but acknowledges it's a close fight. He believes Dumont is the better striker with better range control and takedown defense, and that she can stop Vieira's takedowns. However, he notes that Vieira's path to victory is through grappling, and if she can get top position, she could win. James sees value in the fight going to decision.
Dumont will get her sixth straight victory by putting it on Vieira with her striking and physicality, possibly landing a few takedowns. Dumont is in much better shape and a better state of her career, leading to a decision win.
The MMA Guru picks Norma Dumont, highlighting her recent sharp stand-up performance against Irene Aldana. He criticizes Ketlen Vieira's inconsistency and poor recent performances. He believes Dumont has momentum and will win by decision, possibly 29-28.
Zane picks Dumont because she is a sharp striker who can push a pace that Vieira cannot match. He notes that Vieira is stiff and wide open, and Dumont has the ability to land fight-changing shots. Even if Dumont has a bad fight, he expects a narrow contest, and if she has a good one, she wins clearly.

Round 1
Wrapping the abbreviated prelims is a potential no. 1 contender bout at 135 pounds. Former title challenger Aldana (15-7, 8-5 UFC) washed the bad taste out of a one-sided loss to Amanda Nunes out of her mouth with buckets of blood courtesy of her titanic tussle with Karol Rosa in December. With the division starved for contenders, the Lobo Gym fighter might get another crack at gold if she gets past Dumont (11-2, 7-2 UFC). Fresh out of the 145-pound division, Dumont has shown she can successfully make weight, making her a viable contender as well. A clap of hands seals the cage that also contains referee Herb Dean. Aldana reaches out with a low kick but is out of range, and Dumont takes a few steps forward and lands her own. Dumont connects with another kick, and she just misses with a jab. Aldana jabs her back, and she checks a leg kick as marching forward. Dumont scores a solid low kick, and her one-two bounces harmlessly off the raised guard. Aldana catches her opponent with a left hook, and Dumont shakes her head at it. Dumont sneaks out a jab, with Aldana keeping her own jab active. Aldana jabs to the head and chest, and she walks through low kicks to get in range as Dumont is constantly fighting off her back foot. Dumont tries to force out three punches, but Aldana parries all three and chips away with the front leg. Aldana flashes out a jab and is countered with a right over the top, and she takes a hard kick to the side of her knee. Dumont overswings on power strikes, and Aldana remains in her face, composed and largely utilizing straight strikes while she maintains a grin. Aldana lands again and makes Dumont smile, and then clips her with a right hook that makes the smile disappear. Dumont gets in a clean low kick, and she lands at the end of a right hand and a left to drive Aldana back briefly. The Mexican continues stalking Dumont around, and she connects with a left hand and then pushes Aldana away with a front kick. Aldana reaches her opponent with a left hook and a right, and Dumont grins and swings back harder. Aldana leans back to dodge a high kick and jabs to the body, and she plods forward to deliver a left hook on the jaw. Dumont crashes forward to connect with a right hand, and she waves her hand at her to signal she landed cleanly. Aldana hits air with a left hook, and Dumont stays on her bike potshotting her freely. Aldana misses the mark a few times before the bell.

Round 2
Gloves are touched to start the second round, and Aldana leads off well with a sharp left hook. Dumont smacks her with a front-leg low kick, and she is met with a right hand and quick left. Dumont tries to box her back, but Aldana beats her to the punch and kicks her in the posterior. Dumont peppers the front leg with kicks and uses a long jab to keep Aldana away, and Aldana dips to go after a right to the body and misses with a big left up top. Aldana whiffs on another left hook, and she lets Dumont walk into an overhand right. Aldana sticks out a jab and a low kick, and her guard protects her from two punches but not the two kicks that follow. They land punches at the same time, and Dumont jabs her back to the ribs and kicks the same spot. Aldana eats a left hand and swings back up top, and she gets in a left hook and tries to reach her with a right that comes up short. Both ladies are grinning as they trade punches, having a blast in the cage as they smack one another in the chops. Aldana stings Dumont with a right and a left, and Dumont races at her swinging for the bleachers. Aldana largely blocks the worst of the blows, but a few manage to sneak in. Aldana walks face-first into a left hand, and she continues chasing Dumont around and boops her with a jab. Aldana scores as left and is met with a counter right, and Dumont kicks her front leg for good measure. Dumont skirts away from a left hook to go after the body, and she ducks a looping punch to level change. Aldana pushes her away before a takedown can materialize, and she dings her foe with a long right hand. Dumont counters with an overhand right, and she sits down on a left hook that gets Aldana’s attention. Aldana does not falter as she chases the Brazilian down, but Dumont is outlanding her and hitting her harder. Dumont draws blood on the forehead, and Aldana rocks her with a short combination. Dumont is in her face, slugging it out and cutting Aldana again on the bridge of the nose. Aldana wipes her face, irritated by the bleeding, and the round comes to a close.

Round 3
The replay shows that the cut on Aldana’s forehead is much larger than it first appeared, and it was caused due to a clash of heads and not a strike. Her corner is nowhere close to closing it, and she wipes the blood all across her face as Dumont is willing to smear it with her own strikes. Dumont chases after Aldana early, like she has in the last 10 minutes, but she appears to have finally found her range to a larger degree. Dumont uses an effective jab, but Aldana plodding towards her releasing big hooks find their mark a few times. Dumont chips at the front leg enough to make Aldana take a second thought at approaching, and Aldana is covered in blood. The Mexican does not mind, stalking Dumont fearlessly and obliging in each and every striking exchange. Aldana keeps powering forward, and Dumont tries to take her down. Aldana smashes her in the face with an elbow, causing some unexpected damage, and Dumont is backpedaling and not enjoying herself anymore. Aldana hurries after her, wiping blood all the while, and she keeps working Dumont over with her strikes. Dumont tries all her might to keep Aldana away from her, using her jabs and front kicks to destabilize the oncoming Mexican. Aldana uses her shirt to wipe the blood away, and as she does, Dumont catches her with a left that makes her eye swell. Dumont may be a bit bloodied as well around the nose, but she relishes in the exchanges. Aldana coming at her opponent so fiercely, she is practically sprinting. Aldana wipes her face, strikes, lather, rinse, repeat. Dumont is constantly backing away, and with 10 seconds to spare, she shoots for a takedown that fails. With one final Superwoman punch from Aldana, the bloody match concludes. The enormous cut on the former title challenger’s face is shown in its full form when cleaned up, stretching practically from the top of her forehead to the bottom of her eyelid in a gash that would make Marvin Eastman blush. Just bleed.

The Official Result
Norma Dumont def. Irene Aldana via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
Angelo picks Norma Dumont as an underdog but with caution. He likes her size, ability to slow the pace, and grappling, but notes she took too long to start wrestling in her last fight and was getting touched up on the feet. He prefers betting the over 2.5 rounds instead of the moneyline, as Dumont might not get takedowns and Aldana could piece her up. He is picking Dumont but being wiser with his money.
Big Brady finds this fight close and difficult to call. He picks Aldana because she is the better striker and can keep the fight at range, despite Dumont possibly getting takedowns. He notes Aldana's takedown defense is decent and she pops back up quickly. He expects a close decision win for Aldana.
Daniel picks Norma Dumont via coin flip, admitting he has no strong read on the fight due to Irene Aldana's inconsistency. He notes Aldana can be gun-shy against respected opponents, while Dumont has good fight IQ and game plans. He sees Dumont grinding out a win.
The transcript does not discuss this fight.
A pick'em fight between striker and grappler. Leaning on Dumont's grappling. Aldana may have some success early off her back, but Dumont will be too strong in top positions and grind out a decision win.
The MMA Guru picks Irene Aldana. He notes Aldana has better finishing potential and power at bantamweight, and Dumont is a flyweight moving up which may affect her ability to cut weight. He sees Aldana's lead hook as a weapon and can see her knocking out Dumont, who has been finished before. He recommends a small bet on Aldana by KO.

Round 1
For the first time in years, Dumont (10-2, 6-2 UFC) successfully made the bantamweight limit, hitting the scales at 136 pounds. In her return to the division still maintained by the organization, she draws former featherweight champ de Randamie (10-4, 7-2 UFC), who is coming back after nearly a four-year layoff. The victor could be right in the title picture, and they have the next 15 minutes or less to make their case. Referee Keith Peterson will keep things on the up-and-up and not allow any nonsense in the Apex, and the bout starts with a sporting clap of hands. De Randamie leads off with a front kick up the middle, and she follows it with a low kick after Dumont misses with a right up top. Dumont whiffs on a leg kick, and de Randamie steps in and spins her around with a thudding calf kick. Dumont flicks out a jab, and she catches a leg kick and tackles de Randamie down to the ground. De Randamie hits her back and threatens with a heel hook, but the Brazilian is quick to push past it and climb into the half guard. Dumont keeps de Randamie pressed flat on her back, and de Randamie tries to scoot her way towards the fence to sit up. The Dutchwoman regains full guard and closes it, and Dumont tries to break out of it with a short burst of ground-and-pound. Dumont leans one side to pursue an arm-triangle choke, but the leverage is not right and she bails on it. Dumont keeps smothering without landing any offense, and de Randamie shrugs and looks to Peterson to do something. Peterson asks for more activity from the Brazilian, and she stands up and tries to pass guard but is stopped from getting anywhere while lowering herself down. Dumont steps over at the same time that de Randamie explodes back to her feet, and she dumps de Randamie down to the ground to end the round.

Round 2
The ladies clap hands to get things started, and de Randamie follows it with a jab. Dumont sits down on a big right hand, and she shoots in for a takedown. De Randamie stands her up and pops her with a jab, and when she looks to come after it with an overhand right, Dumont shoots in on her hips. The Dutchwoman again thwarts the takedown, and she turns Dumont towards the wall and starts landing short knees to the thigh and body. Dumont gives her one back before attempting to turn and throw her, but she bails when de Randamie keeps her balance. De Randamie finds the midsection with a few knees, and Dumont keeps a knee shield up to defend from a few more of them. De Randamie opens up with two clean right hands that make Dumont turn around, and Dumont gets away with a fence grab to turn herself in a more advantageous position. De Randamie keeps working the body with knees, and Dumont’s efforts to free herself or turn the tables largely fall short. Dumont does manage to put “The Iron Lady” and her back to the cage, but de Randamie responds with a knee up the middle that makes Dumont rethink her approach. De Randamie walks Dumont down and kicks her in the head, and Dumont shakes her head at her. De Randamie chains a few punches together, and she allows Dumont to throw hands because hers are more accurate and powerful. De Randamie looses a body kick, and the Brazilian catches it and slings her to the mat. Dumont lands and hacks down with an elbow, and she lifts de Randamie up and slams her on her back again to open up the guard around her waist. De Randamie maintains a high guard to keep Dumont honest, all while throwing elbows or punches off her back. De Randamie looks for butterfly hooks, and Dumont stands up and finds herself in immediate armbar danger. The round ends with Dumont surviving the sudden submission setup.

Round 3
The bantamweights hug it out to start the final frame, and de Randamie is ready and willing to strike from her preferred range. Dumont swings back with bad intentions, but the straight, sharp strikes from the Dutchwoman keep her at bay. Dumont charges like a bull, grabbing hold of a double leg and sending de Randamie from one side of the cage to the other. De Randamie urgently moves to her knees and stands up with the wall at her back, and Dumont manages to hit a body lock and trip to dump her back down. De Randamie gives up her back when escaping, and Dumont sets up a rear-naked choke and stays with it while de Randamie turns to her back. Dumont lets the choke go and shifts to side control, where she sets up an arm-triangle choke. Dumont presses her shoulder down when the choke is not locked up, as she is on the other side. Dumont looks to pass as de Randamie turns to her side, and in the process she gives her back up. Dumont jumps on and sneaks a hook in, and she hand-fights while de Randamie protects against a potential choke. De Randamie keeps moving, turning all the way around and back to her knees. The Dutchwoman nearly slides Dumont off of her, but she manages to work to her feet and lean against the fence. Dumont laces one leg between her foe’s and wrangles de Randamie back down to the mat. A desperate de Randamie hacks with elbows or punches as Dumont lays on her, and this continues until time expires.

The Official Result
Norma Dumont def. Germaine de Randamie via Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)
Angelo picks Norma Dumont but acknowledges that Germaine de Randamie is much better than people give her credit for, with only losses to Amanda Nunes and wins over three champions. However, he notes that those wins are old (3.5 to 7 years ago) and that Germaine is 39. He thinks Norma's technical striking and sound takedown defense will be enough. He also mentions that Germaine might be a good plus 3.5 spread bet if she can win one round.
Big Brady picks Germaine de Randamie despite a 3.5-year layoff and many question marks. He notes that de Randamie has only lost to Amanda Nunes in the last 10 years and is the better striker. However, he worries about her takedown defense and the layoff, and acknowledges that the line has moved from +180 to +115, making it less attractive. He is not confident and would not bet on this fight.
Cody agrees, noting Dumont's low output and reliance on clinch control, which doesn't score well. He highlights de Randamie's striking, body work, and improved cardio. Cody also mentions that Dumont will likely miss weight, which could affect her performance. He sees de Randamie as the better athlete and striker.
Daniel Vreeland picks Germaine de Randamie despite her four-year layoff, citing her championship-level resume and improvements in takedown defense before the break. He notes Norma Dumont has been dropped by lesser fighters like Megan Anderson and has only one path to win: extended top control. Vreeland believes even 70% of de Randamie is enough to beat Dumont, given the massive step down in competition.
De Randamie is more skilled overall with striking advantages and improved grappling. She has size and reach advantages and can keep the fight upright. However, the three-and-a-half-year layoff and recent pregnancy are major concerns. If she comes in shape, she should win by decision.
Paul picks de Randamie as a dog, citing her superior striking and experience. He notes Dumont is a decision fighter with low volume and no power, and that she will likely miss weight. Paul thinks de Randamie's cardio and durability are solid, and that her striking will be the difference. He calls it a quintessential dogger pass.
The host uses a mayonnaise bottle flip to decide, but then provides reasoning. He notes Dumont had a close fight with Macy Chiasson, nearly finishing her, showing good grappling. He criticizes de Randamie for being 39, inactive since 2020, and not impressive on the feet. He predicts Dumont will take her down and win on the ground.

Round 1
Stop us if you’ve heard this one: this might be the final women’s featherweight bout in UFC history. This next bout will officially serve as the first between ranked combatants, although neither are ranked in the division in which they are competing because there is no ranking for featherweights. Both in the top 15 at 135 pounds, little should be at stake when Dumont (9-2, 5-2 UFC) faces off against Chandler (5-1, 1-0 UFC). Bad blood has entered this matchup, and they do not touch gloves in front of referee Jacob Montalvo. While they were wild on weigh-in day, they are anything but to lead off the bout. Chandler plods forward slowly, and she reaches out with a front kick and a few jabs. Chandler backs Dumont to the fence, and Dumont suddenly springs to life, with a fierce and furious combination of punches. Chandler is stunned and worse, and she actively turns her back and sprints from one end of the cage to the other in a bizarre display. Dumont chases after her, backing her up to the wall, and Chandler gathers her thoughts and tries to fight back. Dumont get off a body kick ad she circles away, and Chandler walks her down and walks into a punch. Chandler connects with her own left hand, and they end up tied up. Chandler looks for an outside trip or some way to put Dumont to the floor, but her attempts fail as Dumont turns her around. Chandler drives a knee to the torso, and she presses her weight on her opponent to slow things to a crawl. When Chandler commits to a takedown, the Brazilian reverses her and puts Chandler on her back. Chandler utilizes a high guard in an attempt to trap Dumont, but Dumont is wise to the triangle setup and keeps her body weight squeezed down as tightly as she can. Dumont smothers her foe without getting little else going in the way of offense, grinding and wearing Chandler down. With seconds to spare, Dumont drops down a short elbow and raps Chandler on the side of the head a few times before the bell sounds.

Round 2
Chandler marches out of her corner willing to engage, but Dumont throw back with a vengeance to make Chandler think twice. Dumont gets off a calf kick, and she reaches out an overhand right. Chandler clips Dumont with a left hand, and her lead leg is kicked hard to make her change stances. Dumont kicks the other leg, and Chandler checks it. Chandler telegraphs a left hook, leading to a clinch when Dumont snatches her up and turns her around. Chandler breaks free and starts slugging, but she gets bopped with a one-two and her head snaps back. Chandler continues pressing forward, even coming up short in the exchanges, largely because her hands are too low and Dumont beats her to the punch. Dumont blasts her opponent in the face with a one-two, and she follows it with another as Chandler’s head movement is the kind that would force Coach Edmund to yell “head movement.” Dumont trips Chandler up and dumps her to the floor, where she falls flat on top of her and smothers again. Chandler gets put in a position where her neck is between the floor and the wall, but she still lifts her legs up high enough to potentially threaten with an armbar or a triangle choke. Dumont shucks out of it without concern and keeps top position. Chandler pushes Dumont up with her foot, and she drills her in the face with an upkick. Dumont gloms back down and imposes her weight and will, and Chandler still manages to muscle her way back up with the fence behind her. Chandler jockeys for position, turning about and leaning her shoulder on Dumont. They trade short knees to little effect, and the round ends with a push-off and a left hook from the Brazilian.

Round 3
The two featherweights nod at one another before starting off the last round, and Dumont strikes first in the form of a one-two. Chandler bobs her head up and down, but Dumont is easily able to time her movement and smack her in the face. Dumont then rushes forward, where she goes for a double or some sort of takedown to put her foe down. Chandler turns the tables on the Brazilian, taking Dumont for a ride. Dumont stands back up, and Chandler hangs on with a standing arm-triangle choke as she leans on Dumont against the wire. Dumont ignores it, gets out of the clinch and is followed with Chandler punching towards her. Dumont uses Chandler’s momentum against her and procures a body lock takedown. Dumont lowers herself on top, and Chandler rolls for a leglock. Dumont is able to move the proper direction to shut it down entirely, to the degree that she rolls Chandler over to her knees so that she can pound on her from behind. Chandler is unable to stand back up, as Dumont shoves her back over to her side. Dumont grinds an elbow on the cheek, and she sets up an arm-triangle choke with half guard on the other side. Chandler senses it being set up and thwarts it by getting her arm between the gripping arm and her head. Dumont postures up with 45 seconds to go, slugging Chandler in the face from above. Chandler throws her legs up high for a possible armbar, and when Dumont stands up, Chandler swings upkicks at her. Dumont warily lowers herself back into the active guard, and she ends the exhausting fight in this position.

Norma Dumont def. Chelsea Chandler via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
Angelo picks Chelsea Chandler for the upset, calling her the far more dangerous fighter. He notes Norma has a clear advantage in experience and fight IQ, but she got rocked by Carol Rosa, and Chelsea can do the same. He recommends betting on Chelsea wins inside the distance with decision no action, meaning if it goes to decision he gets a refund. He believes Norma is not dangerous and Chelsea is tough, so if anyone is finished, it's Norma.
Big Brady picks Chelsea Chandler, citing her aggression and dog mentality. He admits Dumont is probably the better fighter but thinks Chandler's aggressiveness will go a long way. He expects a close decision where Chandler does a little more across 15 minutes, possibly landing harder shots or getting takedowns. He calls the fight 'greasy' and says he's not betting on it.
Cody leans toward Chandler as a value play at plus money, noting Dumont's low volume and Chandler's aggressive style. He thinks Chandler lands the better shots and that the judges may favor damage and output over cage control. He acknowledges it's a 50/50 fight and prefers the plus money. He also considers the under 2.5 rounds, thinking Chandler could overwhelm Dumont early.
The host believes Dumont is the better striker and will put together solid combinations to damage Chandler. He thinks Chandler's lack of experience and raw game will be exposed, and Dumont may even get a TKO finish due to the skill gap on the feet.
Paul leans toward Chandler as an underdog, citing her bruiser style and high pace in her debut. He thinks her forward pressure and volume could overwhelm Dumont, who has low output. He notes the price is attractive at +120 and expects a close fight. He also considers the under 2.5 rounds at +180, thinking Chandler might finish early.
The MMA Guru picks Norma Dumont over Chelsea Chandler, emphasizing Dumont's proven track record against higher-level competition, including wins over Karol Rosa and a close fight with Irene Aldana. He dismisses Chandler's win over Julija Stoliarenko and notes her losses to Alexis Davis and Julia Avila. He predicts Dumont wins.

Round 1
An all-Brazil battle at the rare women’s featherweight category is about to play out, with the victor here between Rosa (16-4, 5-1 UFC) and Dumont (8-2, 4-2 UFC) very possibly a win away from a crack at the belt in that division – should the champ wish to defend. Unlike the previous matchup that expected a knockout that did not get delivered, these ladies have gone the distance a combined 19 times in their 30 pro outings, while accounting for all nine of their UFC wins. Referee Chris Tognoni might be in this one for the long haul, and it opens up with a touch of gloves. The featherweights are tentative to engage, with Rosa reaching out with a low kick and a front kick from out of range to account for the first minute. They spring into action, throwing alternating hooks, and they catch one another as Rosa gets the worst of it and blinks it out. Dumont moves to the center of the Octagon and throws the low kick, and she swats out with a left to follow. A person from the crowd shows “let’s go” to spur the ladies into action, as they stand in front of one another doing nothing. Tognoni asks them to fight, and they do, briefly, with looping hooks aimed at one another. After the exchange, they get back to a lull of inactivity, with Rosa landing a single leg kick. Dumont answers with one, and Tognoni implores them to do something. Dumont crashes the pocket and ties Rosa up, and she is warned for hooking her fingers in the fence to keep Rosa stuck against it. Rosa punches her opponent on the posterior as Dumont gloms onto her, and Dumont pays it no mind as she presses on the Parana Vale Tudo fighter. Tognoni tells Dumont to stay busy, and Rosa punches her in the backside a few more times before Dumont knees her in the belly. Tognoni breaks the two up after nothing happens in the clinch, and they start slinging leather in short bursts. Dumont calms down and lands a leg kick, one that Rosa meets immediately after. Dumont springs forward with two punches that split the guard, and she takes punches and a pair of knees in response before the slow round ends.

Round 2
The second round kicks off as the two ladies high-five, and Dumont gets her engine roaring as she throws down. Fists fly, and Rosa takes a few on the chin that knock her back to the wall. Dumont tags her a few more times, until the featherweights clinch up, and Dumont immediately grabs it and is warned. The punches from “The Immortal” cause some serious damage on Rosa’s eye, as a cut appears to have formed on or around the eyelid to make Rosa look as if she were weeping blood a la Le Chiffre. It is not a derangement of the tear duct, and instead a result of Dumont’s effective left hand, but they slow down in the clinch. Tognoni considers breaking them, until Rosa sets up a Thai clinch and knees the body a few times. Dumont squeezes her against the wall even tighter, and is once more warned for hooking her fingers in the chain links. Rosa is able to escape the clinch and still seems to be able to see, as she swings her way into a combination that ends up with another tie-up. Rosa pursues a body lock takedown, and Dumont stays upright as Tognoni watches on to make sure no funny business happens. Dumont tries to counter throw her opponent, and Rosa stops it from succeeding and knees her on the chin. Dumont gives her a knee back to the body, and Rosa is content to jam Dumont up in this position. Try as she might, Dumont cannot escape, and Rosa belts her in the face with a cheeky elbow. The round concludes as Rosa breaks off to throw hands, with Dumont replying with a knee to the body.

Round 3
A glove touch starts off the last round at range, and Dumont opens up with two leg kicks and one to the midsection. Rosa throws one back, prompting Dumont to retaliate with a one-two down the middle. Rosa is caught when throwing by Dumont’s oncoming clinch attempt, but they do not tie one another up and instead return to kickboxing range. Dumont sticks out a jab on that damaged eye and scores a low kick, and it is partially checked as she hops on it when recoiling. Dumont jabs the body as Rosa kicks her in the body, and Rosa gets off a quick right hand over the top. Rosa charges her way into a clinch, landing a few shots before closing the distance, and Dumont turns her around with ease. Dumont hangs on with this position, slowing down any offense from either fighter to practically nothing, as Rosa wriggles her arms while Dumont holds both underhooks. Rosa gains space by a matter of inches to use her elbow to frame off and push away, and Dumont counters with a throw that dumps the PRVT fighter to her back. Rosa jumps right back up instead of settling on her back, and she whips a one-two at her opponent. Rosa loads up on a right hand, and Dumont drops to a knee and shakes her head out. Rosa crashes towards her, and she ends up clinching instead of throwing more strikes. Rosa gets off a couple short elbows and a right hand from up close, and Dumont recovers by holding on and turning her about in the tie-up. Rosa gets some space with 30 seconds to spare, and Rosa walks her down and slugs her in the face with her right hand. Dumont backs off, and she seeks a clinch to slow things down. Rosa throws her foe down on her face, and when they stand up, Rosa spins with a back elbow that drills into the face of “The Immortal.” Dumont is stunned but still with it, and the horn blows to end this drudge of a potential eliminator.

The Official Result
Norma Dumont def. Karol Rosa via Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)
Angelo picks Norma Dumont as an underdog, surprised she is +125. He trusts her size, takedown defense, and striking acumen. He notes that while Rosa has high volume, she gets hit twice as often. He thinks Dumont's technical striking will be the difference and that she can pull off the upset.
Big Brady leans with Norma Dumont to win by split decision, but has no confidence in the pick. He notes that the fight is at featherweight, which favors Dumont's size, and that the grappling exchanges will decide the winner. He sees both fighters having been taken down in the past, but gives a slight edge to Dumont's size to get on top and win minutes on the ground. He is passing on betting this fight entirely.
Cody picks Rosa, hoping she can use her volume and speed to outwork Dumont. He notes Dumont doesn't wrestle enough and Rosa has good takedown defense. However, he admits it's a close fight and he is relying on Dumont fighting a bad game plan. He acknowledges Dumont's wrestling could be a problem if she uses it.
Connor picks Karol Rosa, arguing that Dumont is too patient and doesn't know how to grapple, which will be a problem against Rosa's willingness to wrestle. He notes that Rosa flourishes when she can dictate the nature of the fight, and Dumont's lack of pressure will allow Rosa to work. Connor also criticizes Dumont's resume, saying she has mostly beaten non-threatening opponents.
Karol Rosa is the more well-rounded fighter with better output, technical striking, and ground game. However, she is moving up to featherweight, where Norma Dumont has a size and strength advantage. Rosa struggled against the physicality of Sarah McMahon in the past. Dumont is a wild card with inconsistent performances and weight issues. Rosa should use her footwork and volume to outpoint Dumont, but it's a close fight. Prediction: Rosa by decision, with low confidence.
Paul picks Dumont, noting he got her at plus 125 earlier. He believes Dumont has the power and wrestling advantage, and can take Rosa down and control her. He acknowledges Rosa's volume and speed but thinks Dumont's size and strength will be decisive. He mentions the line has moved to minus 120 and there may not be much value left.
The MMA Guru picks Norma Dumont, agreeing with a coin flip. He thinks Dumont is a much better fighter than Karol Rosa, noting Rosa's lack of takedown ability and Dumont's decent takedown defense. He cites Dumont's clean win over Danielle Wolfe and believes she will outclass Rosa on the feet. He predicts a decision win, 29-28 or 30-27.
Zane agrees with Connor, picking Karol Rosa. He notes that Dumont is a solid counter puncher but too patient and doesn't seize initiative. Zane believes Rosa will get a ton of time to work and that Dumont struggles when put on her back. He also points out that Rosa is a willing wrestler and that Dumont's wins are over weak competition.

Rounding out the prelims is a rare women’s featherweight contest, as relative divisional mainstay Dumont (7-2, 3-2 UFC) looks to bounce back from her first career decision loss against the debuting MMA neophyte Wolf (1-0, 0-0 UFC). Wolf, eight years the elder at 39, will try to get things going in a hurry, on the heels of a decent amateur boxing career that amassed her a record of 30-14 – albeit without landing a single knockout. Referee Jason Herzog draws the charge for this highly relevant tilt at 145 pounds, where the winner could be on the short list for Amanda Nunes’ next defense. There is a sporting touch of hands between the two, and they are tense to start off the match. Dumont slaps the leg with a kick and hops back when Wolf throws a straight right hand at her. The Brazilian lands another leg kick, and a third is greeted by a right hook by the ex-boxer. Wolf jabs her way forward, and Dumont slaps them down one after the other. Dumont sits down on another low kick, and she aims a side kick at her opponent to mix things up. Wolf reaches with jabs that miss, and a front kick that barely connects to the body. Wolf steps into a right hand, and has subsequent blows swatted away by “The Immortal.” Wolf whips a body kick, and she bullies into close range to loose a right hand. Dumont winds up with a leg kick, and Wolf takes a funny step and measures her jab a few more times. Dumont slides one and lands her own, and she rings Wolf’s bell with a hard right hand. A stunned Wolf takes a second to recover, and she gathers her thoughts and pops Dumont with a left hand. Wolf throws up a high kick that comes up short, and she spins around before Dumont can make her pay for the inaccurate strike. Dumont keeps working the lead leg, and Wolf plods forward with three punches, while only landing with the last one. Wolf connects with a left hand as she starts getting her range, and Dumont catches her with a right hand again. Wolf replies with a front kick, and Dumont counters her with two looping rights. Dumont ends this brief combination with a low kick, and a welt has formed on the lower thigh of the American. Dumont scores a right hook when Wolf charges forward, and she connects with a few more punches and grins as the round ends.

Round 2
Gloves get touched to start off the second frame, and Wolf begins the round intending on jabbing. Dumont walks through one to swat out a right hand, and she kicks the lead leg to follow. Another low kick comes from the Brazilian, and Wolf punches the body in response. They collect with quick punches, and Wolf fires out jabs that do not land but keep Dumont at bay. Dumont chops at the lead leg, and Wolf works the body with a straight fight hand. When Wolf dips a punch, Dumont comes after her ducking head with another. Wolf blinks it out and keeps working the jab, with few actually landing. Dumont pushes her back with a solid right, and Wolf chains two punches together that get the Brazilian’s attention. Dumont grabs hold of her, knees her in the belly, and trips the boxer out to take her down to the canvas. Wolf frames off with her long legs, and Dumont lets her up so that she can bully her up against the fence with elbows and short shots. Dumont scores short knees and grinds the 1-0 fighter against the cage, and she lets go to find a better angle. Dumont has her head snapped back by an oncoming jab, and she spins with a hook kick that Wolf dodges. Wolf powers forward with winging punches, and Dumont counters her with a clean right hand. A subsequent overhand right rocks Wolf badly, and the former boxer is on roller skates as she gets shoved back to the wire. Dumont lines up a knee and a few short punches on the inside, and Wolf appears to have gotten her bearings as she pushes away. Wolf throws heavily with inaccurate punches, and Dumont responds with a leg kick and a huge overhand right that knocks the American down to the mat again. Dumont climbs on top and starts hammering her, but the round ends before a finish can materialize. Wolf’s right eye starts swelling up fast as she walks back to her corner in a daze.

Round 3
The featherweights clap hands to start off the last round, and they both trade jabs early. Dumont ducks one to elevate her opponent, and she slams Wolf down to the mat with ease. The Brazilian moves right into full mount, and she elects to move back to half guard so that she can keep Wolf grounded. Dumont presses her shoulder heavily to keep Wolf trapped, and she starts slugging Wolf in the face with hammerfists. Wolf throws her legs up to isolate an arm, and Dumont gets her left arm trapped under Wolf’s knee. Wolf, with her hands free and Dumont trapped on top of her, starts punching her opponent, and several land to the back of the head. Dumont wriggles her arm out and stands up, and Wolf uses her long legs to keep Dumont from climbing on top of her. Push kicks from her back allow Wolf to stop Dumont from advancing, until the Brazilian hits an angle and slides in to side control. Wolf tries to buck off and stand back up, so Dumont answers this by moving to mount. “The Immortal” drops down left hands until Wolf ties her up, and she grinds her forehead on Wolf’s chin to make her miserable. Wolf recovers to half guard, and Dumont squeezes down with her shoulder in an unsuccessful arm-triangle choke. Dumont sits up and pummels Wolf with punches, and blood trickles out the ex-boxer’s nose from the strikes. Dumont covers Wolf’s mouth when she is not laying into her with her fists, and Wolf is out of options as she is trapped while Dumont holds her there in three-quarter mount. Dumont hammers her foe with punches and elbows, and Wolf’s face contorts into pain and discomfort as Dumont beats on her like Wolf owes her money. Wolf hangs on for dear life, and Dumont smashes her with elbows until the final bell rings, saving the formerly undefeated fighter from any further punishment.

The Official Result
Norma Dumont def. Danyelle Wolf via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-26)
Angelo picks Norma Dumont, noting she is a technical striker with takedowns, which should be the difference against a boxer with no MMA experience. He thinks Dumont will grapple heavily and take Wolf down. He has no bets because the odds are too high, but he expects Dumont to win.
Big Brady picks Norma Dumont to win by first-round submission, emphasizing her clear path to victory via takedowns and ground control. He notes Danyelle Wolf is a 39-year-old boxing convert with only one MMA fight and a BJJ white belt, while Dumont is a BJJ brown belt. He warns that if Dumont chooses to strike, she won't look like a -450 favorite, but expects her to be smart and finish early.
Cody picks Norma Dumont, noting that Danyelle Wolf is 38 and looked terrible in her debut. He believes Dumont should win, but is wary of the -425 price. He mentions that Dumont's wrestling is not great, but Wolf's ground game is likely worse. He picks Dumont to win but says it's a weird spot.
Daniel Levi picks Norma Dumont confidently. He notes that despite Wolf's boxing background, MMA is different with kicks and takedowns. He believes Dumont should cover the -410 price if she fights smart, but he personally won't lay the chalk.
Jacob also picks Norma Dumont as the safe play, but thinks Wolf could surprise people with improved takedown defense after two years at Kings MMA. He notes Dumont is a striker who was taken down repeatedly by Macy Chiasson, so if Wolf can stuff takedowns, she could land big shots. He might sprinkle Wolf into a DraftKings lineup.
The host picks Norma Dumont but is flabbergasted at the -410 line. He expects Dumont to have a grappling advantage and get a submission or TKO, but notes her inconsistency. He also took a small shot on Wolf at +330 and the under 2.5 rounds as a hedge.
Paul picks Norma Dumont but is hesitant, noting that women's MMA is unpredictable. He points out that Wolf is a boxer with no ground game, but Dumont's striking volume is low and she has been taken down before. He thinks Dumont should win but the price is not attractive.
The MMA Guru picks Norma Dumont to win by decision, 30-27. He expects Dumont to outbox and outgrapple Wolf, mixing in takedowns and ground control. He notes Wolf can box a bit, so Dumont may chop at the legs and use grappling to secure the win. He dismisses the fight as unimportant, noting Wolf is 39 and not ready for the UFC.

Round 1
In this unexpected 147-pound catchweight affair, this time, it is not Chiasson (7-2, 5-2 UFC) who tipped the scales above the featherweight limit. Instead, it is Dumont (7-1, 3-1 UFC), who continues her issue with weigh-ins as she could not find the bantamweight cap well either. Depending on the result, and due to the thinness of the division, the victor here could be up next for a crack at Amanda Nunes’ 145-pound throne. Referee Keith Peterson is on call for this nonsense-free title eliminator, and the fighters are intense and but still touch gloves to start things off. Chiasson keeps a wide berth and prods out with a front kick to the knee, and she switches things up with a high kick that gets blocked. Chiasson targets another high head kick, and wades forward with a pair of punches. They trade leg kicks, and Chiasson stays a little more active from distance as Dumont watches on. When Chiasson leaves a kick out too long, she gets knocked back from an overhand right. Chiasson fakes a level change, and Dumont is ready to meet her and delivers a right hand over the top. A front kick from Chiasson slaps into Dumont’s face, and Dumont tries and fails to toss out a leg kick. The pace is slow but deliberate, as Chiasson comes out with a body kick and a straight left hand. “The Immortal” charges and whiffs on a handful of punches, and she loads up with a right hand that makes Chiasson turn. Chiasson goes after another low kick, and Dumont smacks her again with a right hook. Dumont grabs hold of a clinch, and Chiasson breaks free and plants her left fist on Dumont’s jaw. Dumont shakes her head, but she absorbed the blow cleanly without reprisal. Dumont blocks a head kick, and she hunts for her overhand when Chiasson is kicking at her. Dumont reaches out with two punches, but Chiasson is out of range and dodges. Chiasson stings her with a right hand, and Dumont wobbles her knees and slings a right back her foe’s way. Chiasson steps in with a left hand, and she dodges and slips a right hand to hit a takedown as Dumont attempts to spin. The round ends right after the ladies hit the ground.

Round 2
The featherweights clap hands to start off Round 2, and Chiasson is ready to throw a head kick. It partially gets through, and Dumont responds with a front kick only to get kicked back. Chiasson navigates at her own range, keeping Dumont guessing and staying active enough to shut down Dumont’s typical hard-charging offense. Dumont lands a solid right hand when getting kicked, and Chiasson slides back and chops at the knee with her shin. Chiasson keeps moving and has a leg kick checked, leading her to shoot in to get hold of a body lock and try to take the fight down. Tying Dumont up against the fence, Chiasson pursues a single down low, but the Brazilian stands tall and keeps herself on her feet. Chiasson muscles her down to the ground, and as Dumont leans forward to try to get up, Chiasson looks to take her back. Chiasson does not get her hooks in, and instead falls over when Dumont turns. Chiasson manages to fight her way back up again, not willing to stay grounded when Dumont plants her on her backside. Chiasson lands a few middling knees to the thigh as she holds Dumont in this position, and she grinds her foe until she trips her down. Chiasson falls to her back when trying to take her opponent down, and she gets back up when Dumont cannot hold her there. Chiasson knees Dumont in the chest as she clinches her up and pushes her to the wall, and the color commentators of Joe Rogan and Daniel Cormier relentlessly bash the ladies competing while essentially stating that they are nowhere near championship-level fighters. As they do, Chiasson tries for a trip, and she settles to lean heavily to keep Dumont pinned there until the disappointing round ends.

Round 3
There is a touch of gloves to start off the last round, and Dumont opens up with a left hand that rings Chiasson’s bell. The Brazilian continues her assault with a few punches that rattle Chiasson, and force Chiasson to take her down. Dumont gets back up, shoved to the wall, and dragged back down with a single from Chiasson. Dumont once more returns to her feet, and Chiasson holds on tight while trying to get her bearings back after getting tagged in the opening seconds. The crowd begins to loudly voice its disapproval as Chiasson grinds her foe into the wire, and Peterson asks them to keep working. Chiasson fails to get a takedown, but she settles for a knee up the middle and gets popped with a right hand. When eating that punch, Chiasson charges again to take her down. Dumont is only on her back for a few seconds before walking up the wall, and Chiasson hangs on to her in that position again. The crowd lets them have it as Chiasson embraces the grind, and Peterson lets them keep at it as Chiasson delivers a plethora of short knees to the thigh. Seeing that Peterson will not step in, Dumont tries for herself to score a knee up the middle. Chiasson goes for a trip, and it fails, allowing Dumont to fall on top of her. They both stand up, and Chiasson throws a head kick recklessly. While Chiasson has her leg in the air, Dumont gets off two stinging punches that rock Chiasson again. Chiasson dives desperately for a double, hurt again from the blows and totally fatigued, and all she can do is push Dumont to the wall. Chiasson allows control time to rack up as she hangs on, and Dumont gets hold of the neck and sets up a guillotine choke with seconds left in the round. Chiasson punches the thigh repeatedly to no effect, and the grueling, exhausting fight finally ends as they are clinched up.

The Official Result
Macy Chiasson def. Norma Dumont via Split Decision (30-27, 28-29, 30-27)
Angelo picks Norma Dumont, liking her to crowd Macy and light her up in the pocket. He thinks Dumont will work takedowns against the cage but expects a striking match. He notes that the odds are wide and Dumont should be around -130, not -270.
Big Brady picks Norma Dumont to win by decision. He believes Dumont is the more well-rounded fighter with good striking and grappling. Chiasson has a size advantage in height and reach, but her takedown defense is a liability, as seen against Renaud and Lansberg. Dumont can mix in takedowns and control Chiasson on the mat. Brady thinks the line is wide but agrees Dumont should be the favorite. He expects a competitive fight on the feet but Dumont's path to victory is through takedowns and control.
Cody picks Norma Dumont but is not confident at -225. He notes that Chiasson is moving up to 145 and has defensive liabilities. Dumont has a slight grappling and striking advantage, and her technical boxing is sharper. However, Cody thinks the price is too high and that the fight is closer to a coin flip. He will keep an eye on weigh-ins.
Daniel Levi picks Norma Dumont confidently, citing her fundamentals, jab, leg kicks, and well-rounded game. He questions Chiasson's mental toughness and heart, noting she has been outworked despite size advantages. He expects Dumont to win a decision. However, he does not bet the fight because he does not want to lay -220.
The host picks Norma Dumont, believing she is the better striker and physically strong enough to negate Chiasson's bullying style. He notes Chiasson's success comes from being the bigger fighter, but Dumont is thick and strong. He expects Dumont to land the more significant strikes and possibly get a knockdown. He is not keen on betting Dumont at -220 but prefers the decision prop at +100. He also likes 'fight goes to decision' at -220.
Paul does not make a clear pick. He is torn on this fight and mentions liking the under 2.5 rounds at +180. He notes that Dumont has won by cage control and greasy decisions, but he doesn't love the fight. He does not express a preference for either fighter.
The MMA Guru picks Norma Dumont, praising her technical boxing as some of the best in women's MMA above strawweight. He notes she beat Felicia Spencer and had a close fight with Raquel Pennington. He believes Dumont will pick Chiasson apart at range for three rounds, winning 30-27. He mentions he bet on Dumont.

Angelo picks AilĂn PĂ©rez, believing Ashlee will be rusty after a two-year layoff due to a USADA suspension. He notes PĂ©rez defended five takedowns in her debut and got one of her own, while Ashlee is well-rounded but not a killer. He acknowledges Ashlee's experience makes her a live dog but thinks PĂ©rez's youth and activity give her the edge.
Big Brady picks AilĂn PĂ©rez because Ashlee Evans-Smith is coming off a 2.5-year layoff, is 36 years old, and was 1-4 in her last five fights before the suspension. He doubts she will show a much improved version of herself. While he acknowledges PĂ©rez is not great, he believes her youth and activity will be enough to win. He calls laying -225 'very irresponsible' and says he won't bet it, but he thinks PĂ©rez wins the fight.
Cody picks Pérez, citing her youth, hunger, and physical strength. He details Evans-Smith's personal issues, inactivity, and declining athleticism. He thinks Pérez will mash her into the cage, take her down, and test her cardio. He expects a finish inside the distance.
The host notes that Ashlee Evans-Smith is coming off a nearly three-year layoff and is 36 years old, making her hard to trust. He believes Pérez will follow a similar game plan to Norma Dumont, using forward pressure and power to nullify Evans-Smith's wrestling and win by decision. Despite Pérez being raw, the host favors her due to Evans-Smith's inactivity and age.
Paul picks Pérez, citing her youth, hunger, and physical strength. He notes Evans-Smith has been inactive for three years and has personal issues. He thinks Pérez can take her down and rough her up. He is not touching the -220 line but picks her to win.
The MMA Guru hesitantly picks AilĂn PĂ©rez over Ashlee Evans-Smith, noting Evans-Smith's three-year layoff and age (36) but questioning PĂ©rez's loss to Stephanie Egger. He acknowledges PĂ©rez's regional wins and Evans-Smith's potential return, but ultimately goes with PĂ©rez by decision, though he wouldn't be surprised by an Evans-Smith win.

What was once a bantamweight tilt has been transformed into a catchweight after Viana (4-1, 0-1 UFC) missed weight by 3.5 pounds before taking on Evans-Smith (6-4, 3-4 UFC). With both trying to even their UFC records to .500, referee Jason Herzog will make sure everything is above board as they collide. There is no glove touch, and instead Evans-Smith walks forward to land a leg kick, miss with a high kick and also swing wildly with a front kick to the body. The American does land another leg kick, and two more to the body connect as well. Viana tries to time a right hand, and Evans-Smith goes back to kicks high and low. When Viana tries to respond with a kick, Evans-Smith counters with a left hand, but the kick landed much heavier than her opponent’s previous strikes. Evans-Smith comes up short with a few more, and she is out of range from a standing elbow as well. Viana sits down on a right hand in a one-two, and it careens off Evans-Smith’s guard. Evans-Smith scores a right hand when Viana comes forward, and she follows it with a chipping leg kick. Viana drills her with a hard leg kick of her own, and a left hand from Viana appears to have started a little swelling above Evans-Smith’s right eye. Viana strings together a trip of punches, and she walks through a kick but Viana loads up on heavier strikes. Evans-Smith charges forward with a salvo of strikes, but Viana dodges them all and clips her with a counter. Viana cracks Evans-Smith with three punches, and Evans-Smith has four strikes easily thwarted. Viana blocks a strike and lands a left hand, and Evans-Smith does sneak in a right hand but Viana blitzes her with several hard punches. Viana clinches up with her opponent, and she holds her hand over Evans-Smith’s mouth and Evans-Smith is wincing. A strike from Viana has opened up a cut on the bridge of her opponent’s nose, and Evans-Smith shoots in for a takedown but hits a brick wall. Viana, the much stronger woman at the moment, lifts Evans-Smith up and slams her down hard. Viana sits up and lands a left hand from above, and the round ends. Viana helps Evans-Smith up on the break.

Round 2
Evans-Smith swings and misses with a kick to open up the second, and Viana stands before her and waits to land a few thudding punches. Evans-Smith fakes a takedown but Viana sees it coming, and she pulls off a head-and-arm throw but cannot maintain the position. Instead, Viana rolls through the position, takes Evans-Smith’s back, and the two wildly scramble back to their feet. Pressed against the cage, Viana tosses Evans-Smith down, and she lands in side control, where she opens up with elbows before taking Evans-Smith’s back. Evans-Smith blocks a rear-naked choke attempt and she pushes off the fence, but Viana takes full mount and looks to unload strikes on top. Evans-Smith clings to her heavier opponent like Saran wrap, and Viana breaks the grip and lands occasional ground-and-pound. Viana grinds her forehead on her opponent’s like the UFC days of old, and when she sits up, her top gets trapped and slides off. Herzog pauses the action to get it fixed for her, and when we resume, Viana lands several cracking elbows. Evans-Smith is fired up, and she kicks off to get back to her feet, and she starts throwing heavy leather when they both get back up. Evans-Smith is busted up but she stalks down her opponent, and Viana stays composed and lands an overhand right as Evans-Smith rushes towards her. Viana connects with a loud leg kick, and she ducks out of the way of a one-two to score a right hand over the top. Evans-Smith tries to attack with high kicks, but Viana’s counter strikes are doing damage and making Evans-Smith recoil at each one that lands. One final body kick concludes the round for Evans-Smith.

Round 3
The American uses herky-jerky movement to work her way in and land kicks, but Viana strings together four punches that ring Evans-Smith’s bell. Evans-Smith slaps up a kick that glances off Viana’s guard, and the Brazilian darts out of the way from another that flies by. Viana gets off a one-two that makes Evans-Smith take a back step, and she puts four more together before Evans-Smith can reply. Viana scores a left hand, and then a right, and the two go strike-for-strike with Viana getting marked up as well from these exchanges. They clinch up, and Evans-Smith scores a knee but gets elbowed in the face to send her reeling. Evans-Smith switches stances and rips a body kick, and she lands two more to the body while Viana counters her with punches over the top. Evans-Smith targets the liver with another kick, and Viana circles on the outside before socking Evans-Smith with a stiff one-two. Viana punches her way into a clinch, but she bails on it when Evans-Smith tries to elbow her face off. Viana chops at the lead leg, and she hops backwards to avoid the counter and evades four more strikes that are all inaccurate. Viana again lands a leg kick, and three punches that follow collide off Evans-Smith’s high guard. Evans-Smith charges in to clinch up, and Viana turns her around and gets kneed in the body several times. Viana is well out of the way from Evans-Smith strikes, and she lands a few punches but pulls back when Evans-Smith gets stung. Viana loads up on a right hand, and she chains together a series of punches that hurt Evans-Smith badly and make the American fall to the canvas. Evans-Smith attacks a desperation takedown to save herself, and Viana shrugs it off and starts swinging with everything she has left, hurting Evans-Smith again. A trip takedown for Viana leads to a fun scramble, and Viana ends the round holding Evans-Smith down. We have our first decision of the night, although Viana came very close to finish the fight in the waning seconds.

The bantamweights sling a few punches before entering the clinch, and now it's Vieira pushing Evans-Smith against the wall. They separate quickly and Vieira counters a lazy low kick from Evans-Smith with a right hand down the center. Vieira scores with another counter combination as she walks Evans-Smith backward toward the wall. Evans-Smith continues to work her low kicks, but the Brazilian is landing the harder shots with uppercuts and combos. Vieira stuffs a shot and digs an underhook to jam Evans-Smith against the wall again. Vieira drops for a single-leg, can't get anything going, but pops Evans-Smith with an uppercut on her way out of the clinch. Evans-Smith scores with a right hand, follows with a knee to the body and a leg kick. Vieira goes body-head with the right hand before pushing Evans-Smith against the fence, now looking for a trip takedown. Vieira nearly secures a takedown but Evans-Smith reaches her hand over the top of the fence and stays standing. Evans-Smith reverses the position and lands a clinch knee before the horn.

Round 2
Vieira goes back to the body with her right hand early in the round, blocks a shot from Evans-Smith and runs the American against the fence again. Evans-Smith does well to fend off a bodylock takedown at first, but when Vieira adjusts her position, the Brazilian is able to drag her to the mat. Evans-Smith is back on her feet quickly but can't free herself from the clinch. The bantamweights split with just under three minutes on the clock. Evans-Smith lands a jab-low kick combo, gets swatted back with Vieira's right hook. Vieira continues to press forward and slams Evans-Smith with a pair of hard right hands, forcing Evans-Smith to back away and slowing the pace of the striking. Left hook-uppercut combo connects for Vieira, and it leaves Evans-Smith looking a bit stung. Evans-Smith comes back with a body kick in the final moments but eats a straight right hand in return.

Round 3
Vieira gets tripped up as Evans-Smith comes forward and slips to the mat late in the first minute of the round. Evans-Smith tries to pounce, but Vieira jumps back to her feet, clinches up and gets a rear waistlock at the fence. Evans-Smith defends the takedown as Vieira works from behind her, stomping at the American's feet and kneeing the back of her legs. Referee Keith Peterson waits a minute before breaking up the fighters and bringing them back to the center. Evans-Smith is sporting a mouse under her right eye as she shoots inside, gets underhooked and pushed away. Measured striking from both fighters down the stretch, with Vieira pressing forward but looking to counter. The Brazilian has some damage near her left eye, too, possibly from a behind-the-back elbow Evans-Smith threw in their earlier stalemate position. Evans-Smith continues to pepper Vieira with leg kicks down the stretch but can't find a home for her right hand. Vieira cracks Evans-Smith with a pair of hard rights just before time expires.
