Angelo picks Tatiana Suarez despite finding her boring, citing her dominant wrestling and predictability. He acknowledges Loopy Godinez's skills and striking but criticizes her low fight IQ and poor decisions. He believes Loopy could win if she sticks to striking but expects her to make mistakes and end up on her back.
Big Brady is worried about Tatiana Suarez after her poor performances against Zhang Weili and Amanda Lemos, noting she gassed and couldn't get dominant positions. Cody picks Godinez, citing Suarez's injuries, layoffs, and declining wrestling. He thinks Godinez's scrambling, boxing, and volume will earn her a decision win.
Connor picks Suarez over three rounds, citing her superior wrestling and size. He notes that Suarez will get Godinez down and control her, as Godinez is also a wrestler but not at Suarez's level. He mentions that the fight should be five rounds to see if Godinez can survive and force Suarez to gas, but over three rounds it's a foregone conclusion.
Daniel believes Suarez is on a decline due to injuries and age, while Godinez has the wrestling to keep the fight standing and better hands. He picks Godinez to win by decision.
Daniel Vreeland picks Loopy Godinez as an underdog, believing that Tatiana Suarez is in decline after injuries and poor performances. James picks the underdog Godinez, fading Suarez for the third time. He believes Suarez has declined and that Godinez can win a striking battle, though he acknowledges Suarez's size and fight IQ advantages.
Suarez is the best wrestler in the division and should dominate Godinez on the ground. Godinez has a slight striking edge but her wrestling is not at Suarez's level. Suarez's size and reach advantage will help her close distance for takedowns. She can grind out a decision or find a submission. The line is surprisingly low for Suarez, offering value.
Paul picks Suarez, believing her wrestling is still superior and she can control Godinez. He acknowledges her decline but thinks she has one more good performance.
The MMA Guru picks Loopy Godinez over Tatiana Suarez, though he admits it's a questionable pick. He likes Godinez's scrambles and grappling defense, and thinks Suarez's stand-up is abysmal. He believes Godinez can eke out a 29-28 decision as a slight underdog, citing Suarez's injury history and potential 'loser energy' from her husband Patchy Mix.
Zane picks Suarez, agreeing that she will dominate early and Godinez won't be able to finish her. He notes that Suarez's wrestling is too strong and Godinez's boxing isn't good enough to keep her off. He also comments that the odds are too slim and should be wider in Suarez's favor.

Angelo believes Godinez has a giant grappling advantage and is the better fighter technically, but her fight IQ is questionable. He assumes she will make the right decisions and take Pepto before the fight. He thinks Andrade is a brute force brawler with limited skills, so Godinez should win if she doesn't do dumb things.
Big Brady picks Loopy Godinez to win by second-round submission. He notes Andrade has been inconsistent and looks awful on the ground recently, with poor takedown defense. He thinks Godinez's path to victory is to mix in takedowns and grapple, as Andrade has been submitted many times. He worries about Godinez's fight IQ but trusts her to wrestle here. He mentions Godinez has a couple of submissions in the UFC and is working on her grappling.
The host expresses disappointment in Godinez's development but thinks she can handle Andrade's aggressive striking. He predicts Godinez will land enough takedowns in the first two rounds to grind out a decision, surviving the third round.
The Guru picks Jéssica Andrade to win by TKO in round two. He believes Andrade will be too overwhelming with her punches for Loopy Godinez. The Guru notes that Godinez is easily hittable and has had close fights with lower-level competition. He doesn't see Godinez finishing Andrade or taking her down and submitting her. Despite Andrade's recent losses, the Guru thinks she is a step above Godinez's level.

Connor picks Godinez but is hesitant, noting that Polastri is a powerful bully who could pressure Godinez into hesitation. He thinks Godinez needs to be the aggressor and use her wrestling to control the fight. He compares her to Sam Hughes in needing consistency and determination.
Zane picks Godinez but shares Connor's worry about her confidence. He notes that Godinez has struggled against pressure and that Polastri is a dangerous, powerful striker. However, he thinks Godinez can be busier and more successful at range, and that Polastri's lack of range control will allow Godinez to wrestle effectively.

Angelo picks Godinez but is hesitant due to her notoriously low fight IQ. He thinks she is the better fighter everywhere except BJJ, with better striking, wrestling, and athleticism. He notes Dern's poor takedown accuracy and reliance on toughness. He bet only a quarter unit because he doesn't trust Godinez.
Big Brady is taking another underdog, citing Godinez's superior wrestling and boxing on the feet. However, he admits he doesn't trust Godinez either, calling it a weird fight.
Cody picks Loopy Godinez, citing her superior boxing and wrestling. He notes that Dern has poor takedown accuracy and has been roughed up on the feet recently. He mentions that Godinez is a slight underdog and that women's MMA is volatile.
Daniel picks Dern, citing her toughness and ability to overcome adversity. He criticizes Godinez's fight IQ and tendency to abandon game plans. He believes Dern will gas pedal Godinez and be the tougher fighter, despite potential striking exchanges.
Godinez should avoid the clinch and use footwork to out-strike Dern, stuffing takedowns. She should land better damage and win on the scorecards.
Paul picks Loopy Godinez, noting that she is the better striker and can avoid Dern's grappling. He thinks Godinez's volume and takedown defense should be enough to win a decision. Paul acknowledges Dern's scrambling ability but believes Godinez can stay away and win on the feet. He also mentions that Godinez went the distance with Virna Jandiroba, which looks good in hindsight.
The MMA Guru picks Loopy Godinez over Mackenzie Dern, citing Dern's lack of seriousness and Godinez's activity and better striking. Angelo picks Loopy Godinez, believing she is better everywhere, including wrestling. He notes Virna Jandiroba is a grinder with a one-dimensional game plan of shooting takedowns. He thinks Godinez's striking improvements and defensive wrestling will be enough to win, though he acknowledges Jandiroba's relentless takedown attempts could be a problem.
Big Brady picks Loopy Godinez to win by decision, but expresses concern about her fight IQ. He believes Godinez should keep the fight standing to avoid Jandiroba's dangerous BJJ, but worries she might wrestle unnecessarily. He thinks Godinez is the much better striker and should stuff takedowns, but is not fully confident due to her past poor decisions.
Cody believes Godinez is the better boxer and wrestler, with superior cardio and durability. He thinks Jandiroba's one-dimensional grappling won't be enough, and even if she gets takedowns, Godinez will survive and win rounds with striking volume.
Daniel Vreeland picks Loopy Godinez, citing her superior striking, power, and athleticism. He thinks she can keep the fight standing and use a sprawl-and-brawl game plan to avoid Jandiroba's dangerous jiu-jitsu. He notes Jandiroba's willingness to stand and trade, which plays into Godinez's hands. He predicts Godinez by decision.
Godinez has improved striking and wrestling advantage. Jandiroba's hands are poor; she got outboxed by McKenzie Dern and Amanda Lemos. Godinez should keep the fight standing and land punches, potentially earning her first UFC knockout. The plus 750 KO prop is worth a sprinkle. Godinez controls pace and location.
Paul sees Godinez as the more versatile fighter, able to win on the feet or with wrestling. He notes Jandiroba's aging and limited striking, and expects Godinez to outwork her over three rounds, likely by decision.
The host picks Loopy Godinez, stating he never picks Virna Jandiroba. He believes Godinez can keep the fight on the feet and has a boxing and grit advantage. He thinks Godinez's grappling is good enough to defend takedowns and that she will win a decision, possibly 29-28. He notes that close decisions tend to go against Jandiroba.

Angelo picks Godinez, emphasizing her wrestling and size advantage. He criticizes Ricci's striking and takedowns, believing Godinez can defend takedowns and win on the feet. He is not insanely confident but thinks Godinez gets it done.
Big Brady picks Loopy Godinez by decision. He believes Godinez is the better striker with good volume and power, and also the better wrestler with strong takedown defense. He thinks Godinez can dictate where the fight takes place and win striking exchanges even if she doesn't wrestle. He notes Godinez's past fight IQ issues but doesn't think they'll matter here.
Cody picks Godinez, citing her boxing volume, pressure, and improved ring IQ. He notes she has size and strength advantages, and that Ricci's wrestling likely won't be enough. He thinks Godinez wins on volume and pressure, though he's not confident enough to bet heavily.
Godinez's wrestling background should allow her to keep the fight upright where she has the striking advantage. Ricci will need to take it to the ground to have success, but Godinez can control where the fight takes place. The line has moved from -120/-130 to -170, which makes sense, but he would prefer a better line around -130 to bet. Prediction is Godinez by decision.
Paul agrees, noting Godinez's striking advantage and that Ricci's wrestling will be negated. He thinks Godinez will win on volume, though he acknowledges the New York commission can be unpredictable. He sees Godinez as the rightful favorite.
The MMA Guru picks Loopy Godinez, citing her advantage in standup and aggression. He thinks Godinez will force a high pace that Ricci is not comfortable with, and notes that Godinez is tough and throws punches like a man. He predicts a decision win for Godinez.

Angelo picks Lupita Godinez as the better fighter, citing her size, strength, and wrestling. He acknowledges her inconsistency and notes that the version that fought Cynthia Calvillo would lose to Elise Reed. He believes Godinez should win but considers the odds too wide to bet due to her unreliability.
Big Brady picks Godinez but expresses concern about her fight IQ and recent reluctance to wrestle. He notes that if Godinez wrestles, she should dominate easily, as Reed has poor ground game and takedown defense. However, if Godinez strikes, the fight could be closer. He predicts Godinez will eventually take the fight to the mat and submit Reed in the second round.
Cody picks Godinez, emphasizing her size, strength, and wrestling advantage. He notes Reed's poor takedown defense and Godinez's ability to win even if she strikes. He expects Godinez to control the fight and possibly get a submission, but thinks a decision is also likely.
Daniel Levi is confident in Lupita Godinez, citing her wrestling advantage as Elise Reed has been taken down in every UFC fight. He notes Godinez's high output in her last fight and believes she can win on the feet as well, but the path of least resistance is through takedowns. Levi expects Godinez to dominate and sees this as a showcase for her improved skills.
Godinez has a tremendous wrestling advantage over Reed, who has been submitted in losses to grapplers. Godinez's striking is underrated, but she should focus on takedowns and top control. Reed alternates wins and losses and is coming off a win, so she's due for a loss. I expect Godinez to drag the fight to the ground and finish inside the distance.
Paul picks Godinez confidently, noting she can win anywhere but should wrestle. He mentions her inconsistency in game plans but believes she is a massive step up in competition for Reed. He sees a first-round submission as very possible if she wrestles.
The MMA Guru picks Lupita Godinez over Elise Reed, calling it a mismatch. He notes Godinez's wins over better competition like Emily Ducote and Cynthia Calvillo, while Reed's recent win was over Jin Yu Frey. He believes Godinez's boxing is crisper and she mixes in takedowns better, making her more versatile.

Angelo picks Emily Ducote because she is a former Invicta champion with slick counter-striking, power, and good wrestling. He criticizes Lupita Godinez for poor decision-making and a miserable track record on short notice. He has a small 0.25-unit bet on Ducote at +119, expecting the line to flip to favor Ducote.
Big Brady picks Lupita Godinez to win by decision, but with a caveat. He notes Godinez is a phenomenal wrestler but has recently fallen in love with her hands, which makes no sense to him. If she wrestles, she wins easily; if she doesn't, it could be close. He expects her to mix in takedowns and win a decision, but he's not fully confident in her game plan.
Cody sees this as a close striking match where both women have wrestling but may not use it. He favors Ducote's striking volume and power, and questions Godinez's fight IQ after she failed to wrestle against Angela Hill. He expects a decision win for Ducote.
Connor agrees with Zane, picking Ducote but with low confidence. He thinks Godinez won't push a pace that makes Ducote uncomfortable, leaving Ducote as the sharper striker. However, he notes that Godinez is capable of a complete performance and that Ducote hasn't shown she can handle a high-level all-around fight. He also mentions that if Godinez accepts taking hard counters and tries to break Ducote, it could work, but he suspects Ducote will persuade her not to.
Daniel Levi picks Emily Ducote as a slight underdog. He thinks Godinez is still developing and has shown vulnerabilities, while Ducote has better volume and striking. He envisions the fight being close, possibly 1-1 going into the third, where Ducote's experience and output could earn her a decision. He notes Ducote landed 116 significant strikes in her UFC debut and believes she can stuff takedowns and chip away over three rounds.
The host picks Lupita Godinez, believing her wrestling will be the difference maker. He thinks Godinez has slicker boxing and can chain takedowns behind combinations. He expects a decision win, though notes Ducate is a good kickboxer and the fight could be close.
Paul agrees, noting that Godinez's win over Calvillo was close and could have gone either way. He thinks Ducote is more dynamic on the feet and that the line offers value. He is not confident enough to bet but picks Ducote.
The MMA Guru picks Lupita Godinez, citing her versatility as a Swiss Army knife compared to Ducote's striking-focused style. He likes the quick turnaround and believes Godinez will mix in grappling to push a pace. He notes Godinez's wins over Ariane Carnelossi and Loma Lookboonmee, the latter being a better striker than Ducote. He expects a close decision, 29-28.
Zane picks Ducote, reasoning that Godinez's pressure style may not work well against a sharp counter puncher like Ducote. He notes that Ducote has a reach advantage and can land counters when Godinez tries to swarm. However, he expresses concern about Ducote's tendency to shut down under pressure, as seen against Angela Hill, and her lackluster UFC performances. He also worries about Godinez's wrestling if she can get the fight to the ground.

Angelo picks Lupita Godinez but is not betting due to her unreliable performance against Angela Hill. He notes that when Lupita shows up, she is a big, strong, powerful wrestler with clean boxing, but she needs to be the bully. He thinks she should be able to push Cynthia Calvillo around, but needs to prove herself after the last fight.
Big Brady picks Lupita Godinez but with hesitation due to her poor game plan against Angela Hill where she didn't wrestle. He believes Godinez should win by using her wrestling against Calvillo, who is on a losing streak. He predicts a decision win but expresses distrust in Godinez's consistency.
Cody picks Calvillo as a value play. He notes Godinez's inconsistency and poor fight IQ, and believes Calvillo has a chance despite her losing streak. He mentions Calvillo's wrestling background and that she has been competitive against top fighters. Cody says he already put $200 on Calvillo earlier in the week and may add more. He calls it a system play based on Pat Mayo's CF model.
Connor agrees with Zane, picking Godinez. He notes that Calvillo's division switch is a bad sign and that her game doesn't connect. Connor also mentions that Godinez is aggressive and should win.
Jacob is leaning towards Lupita but is wary after being burned by her last fight. He notes that if Lupita uses her wrestling, she can dominate, but if she doesn't, it will be a close fight. He thinks Cynthia Calvillo may be 'broke' with zero confidence, but Lupita's inconsistency makes him hesitant.
Godinez has good wrestling and BJJ, but needs to blend takedowns behind her striking. Calvillo has struggled with her striking and confidence, and a recent camp change may not help at 35. Godinez should have a striking advantage and can stuff takedowns. My only concern is Godinez getting stuck in bad positions, but I think she pulls away via decision.
Paul picks Godinez but is very hesitant. He criticizes Godinez's poor fight IQ, noting she often abandons her wrestling and strikes instead. He points to her fight against Angela Hill where she didn't wrestle despite having a clear advantage. Paul thinks Calvillo is on a losing streak but has faced tough competition. He says Godinez is talented but unreliable at -300.
The MMA Guru picks Lupita Godinez to win by 29-28 split decision. He expects Godinez to land crisper shots on the feet and mix in takedowns in the first two rounds, while Calvillo will come back in the third round. He sees round two as a toss-up but believes Godinez's takedowns will be the difference maker. The prediction is close and acknowledges Calvillo's late surge.
Zane picks Godinez because Calvillo has been mentally in a hole and her game is dysfunctional. He notes that Godinez is crazy and aggressive, which should be enough to win. However, he worries that if Godinez can't get takedowns, she loses confidence in her boxing.

Expert Picks (7)
Angelo is extremely confident in Loopy Godinez, calling her a bully who will dominate Angela Hill. He notes Hill's best days are behind her and that she struggles against wrestlers with power. Angelo plans to bet the moneyline and the takedown prop on Godinez, and will use her in daily fantasy as well.
Big Brady picks Loopy Godinez to win by decision. He notes that Godinez is a phenomenal wrestler who will close the distance and grind on Hill. Hill has improved takedown defense but was taken down three times by Verna Jandiroba. Godinez's striking is solid, but Brady expects her to rely on wrestling to wear Hill down and win a decision.
Cody picks Godinez by decision, agreeing with Paul. He notes Hill's takedown defense has regressed and that Godinez will pursue takedowns for 15 minutes. Cody cautions that Godinez's takedown numbers came against lower-level opponents, but still expects a grinding decision win.
Daniel Levi picks Loopy Godinez, citing her clear edge on the mat. He notes that if Godinez uses her wrestling and grinds out a decision, she will win. However, he is not in a rush to lay -300 odds on her and acknowledges that if she stands and bangs with Hill, it could be close.
The host feels pretty strong about Godinez. He mentions that he could see her getting a finish on the mat, but also thinks the fight could go over 2.5 rounds. He includes her in his totals parlay as the sketchiest leg, but still picks her to win.
Paul picks Godinez by decision, noting her takedown-heavy game plan and Hill's improved but still vulnerable takedown defense. He thinks Godinez will get 5-6 takedowns and control the fight. Paul prefers the decision prop at -150 to avoid the -300 moneyline.
The host picks Loopy Godinez, expecting her to mix takedowns with striking and outwork Angela Hill. He notes Hill's decent takedown defense but believes Godinez's options and recent form at strawweight (wins over Loma Lookboonmee and Ariane Carnelossi) will lead to a 30-27 decision. He dismisses Hill's chances entirely.

Round 1
In her entire UFC run that began in 2019, Carnelossi (14-2, 2-1 UFC) has competed three times, thanks in part to injury and major surgery on her back. In comparison, “Loopy” Godinez (7-2, 2-2 UFC) debuted for the UFC in 2021, and this is her fifth walk to the Octagon. The strawweights will square off with oversight from outstanding referee Jason Herzog, and there is no interest in a glove touch before they get after it. Carnelossi comes out throwing, and Godinez answers her with an attempt to clinch, but the Brazilian has no interest in doing so. Carnelossi wades into power punches, and Godinez slips them and grabs hold of Carnelossi’s arm to throw her down to the mat. Godinez goes after an odd-angle choke in a wild scramble, and Carnelossi gets back up for one seconds before “Loopy” pulls her back down. Godinez snags on to a guillotine choke, and she lets go to take Carnelossi’s back when Carnelossi is on her knees. Godinez cranks on an unorthodox neck crank without a hook in, and Carnelossi powers through so that she can pursue a single. Godinez controls Carnelossi’s ankle from behind, disallowing “Sorriso” to sneak out the back door and try anything. Carnelossi crawls her way to the fence, and Godinez follows her and elbows her upside the head as she looks to get a hook in. Carnelossi powers back up with sheer muscle, and Godinez controls her all the way back down to the mat impressively. Godinez hangs on to Carnelossi, tripping her out and taking her for a ride with her hands clasped around Carnelossi’s chest. Godinez slings her down, and Godinez sets up a shoulder choke when Carnelossi defends with a guillotine choke. The Brazilian abandons her own guillotine so she does not fall into a Von Preux, and Godinez keeps her foe down on the mat with that arm-triangle. Godinez works Carnelossi over with knees to the body and punches, mixing in the occasional elbow as she gives Carnelossi fits. Carnelossi is stuck with her head pinned between the floor and the wall, and Godinez pounds her fist into Carnelossi’s face again and again. Godinez works the thigh with elbows, and controls Carnelossi to the horn.

Round 2
The Brazilian comes out with a left hook, but she is well off the mark when she swings it as Godinez is already backing off to kick the body. Godinez sneaks in a right hand, and Carnelossi is shocked and gets cracked with another that wobbles her as Carnelossi tries to counter. Godinez drives through with a double, slamming “Sorriso” down to the mat with emphasis, and she immediately begins to hammer Carnelossi with brutal elbows. Carnelossi struggles to keep her wits about her, and she slowly covers up and tries to turn the tables, only for Godinez to pressure her to the wall with Carnelossi on her knees. Godinez blasts Carnelossi in the ribs with a few knees, and Carnelossi gives up her back to turn away from the blows. Godinez happily takes it, and she gets both hooks in and starts fishing for a choke. Carnelossi tugs on the fence with fingers and toes in an effort to get some leverage, and Godinez meets a sweep attempt from the Brazilian to pull Carnelossi away from the cage wall. Godinez grips the toes for a possible toe hold, and Carnelossi yanks her foot free and subsequently begins to eat elbows. Godinez, from half guard, goes after a two-on-one wrist lock to wrench Carnelossi either up for a keylock or down for a kimura – whatever works for her, as she is firmly in the driver’s seat. Carnelossi turns to her knees as she breaks the les around her own waist, and she then falls to her back as Godinez goes after an arm-triangle choke. Godinez crushes down with the arm-triangle choke while in half guard, and she tries to step over to side control while squeezing the neck with all her might. Carnelossi is struggling and uses the “answer the telephone” defense to give herself just a little bit of breathing room. Carnelossi sits up and pushes Godinez’ arms back to sit up to her knees, and Godinez answers by aiming for a guillotine choke. Godinez cannot keep Carnelossi down as the last few seconds are on the clock, and when they stand, Godinez cracks her with a right hand for good measure to end the dominant round.

Round 3
The final round opens with an aggressive Carnelossi, and she throws a right hand and walks straight into a double. Godinez tackles Carnelossi straight to the mat, and she lands straight into side control. Carnelossi turns to her knees, and Godinez punches her in the side of the head when moving. Godinez keeps working the Brazilian with left hands as Carnelossi tries desperately to crawl her way to the fence and stand. Godinez hooks Carnelossi’s legs, and Carnelossi rolls through suddenly for a leglock. Godinez defends well and circles around to return to her position that allows her to land ground-and-pound, and she sucks out Carnelossi’s hips to return her to the floor. They trade short punches, as Carnelossi is leaning her back up against the fence while on her seat. Carnelossi bursts her way upright again, and Godinez ties her up in the clinch to knee and uppercut her repeatedly. “Loopy” decides to put on a show, and she lifts her foe completely up in the air and slams Carnelossi down to the mat. Godinez clings on top and hooks Carnelossi’s legs with her own, and she postures up to elbow Carnelossi a few times as Herzog takes a close look at the action. Godinez continues to grind with elbows, and in half guard she is doing some damage with her strikes. Carnelossi turns to sit up and try to reverse the position, but Godinez meets her every step of the way. Carnelossi eventually stands up, and Godinez knees her, punches her and snags a double to plant Carnelossi right back on the ground to make a statement. Godinez ends the fight with some powerful strikes, and she has likely picked up the biggest win of her career while putting on arguably her best performance to date.

Expert Picks (7)
Angelo picks Loopy Godinez but expresses hesitation, noting that Carnelossi is hard to push around and that Godinez may struggle to get the fight to the ground. He compares the matchup to Carnelossi's previous fights where she won despite losing exchanges. He mentions he may switch his pick after weigh-ins.
Big Brady picks Loopy Godinez to win by decision, but he is leaning and flip-flopped. He thinks the striking is competitive, with Carnelossi having power and volume, but Godinez has better wrestling. Godinez showed good takedowns against Loma Lookboonmee, and Carnelossi has poor takedown defense (25%). Brady believes Godinez can get takedowns and control the fight on top. However, Carnelossi is dangerous and strong, making this a close fight. He edges Godinez but with little confidence.
Cody picks Lupita Godinez, citing her excellent wrestling and technical striking. He notes that Godinez consistently scores multiple takedowns and controls fights. Carnelossi's takedown defense is suspect, and even if she keeps it standing, Godinez has the striking advantage. Cody believes Godinez's wrestling, cardio, and pace will be decisive, and the -170 price is reasonable.
Daniel Levi picks Ariane Carnelossi as a slight underdog, expecting her to pull away down the stretch. He thinks Carnelossi's power and volume will be decisive if she can get back up from takedowns. He is not confident because Godinez may blanket her with wrestling. He does not bet the fight.
The host is very high on Loopy Godinez, calling this his bread and butter spot with a minus 180 favorite in women's MMA. He highlights Godinez's technical wrestling advantage over Carnelossi, who has suspect takedown defense. He expects Godinez to mix in striking to set up takedowns, then grind on top and possibly find a submission. He warns against Godinez striking too much but trusts her boxing if needed. He is considering making this his lock of the night play.
Paul does not make a clear pick. He considered Carnelossi at +200 but the line moved to +150, which scared him off. He notes that Carnelossi's win over Naliang was unimpressive as Naliang gassed. Paul calls it a dogger pass situation and does not express a preference.
The MMA Guru picks Loopy Godinez, trusting her well-rounded skills and potential. He notes that Godinez beat Loma Lookboonmee, who he considers one of the better strawweights, and that her only UFC loss came when moving up in weight. He criticizes Carnelossi's competition and implies she may be using performance-enhancing drugs. He believes Godinez has good enough grappling and striking to win, and that Carnelossi hasn't impressed him.

For the third time in less than a month and a half – a modern UFC record – Godinez (6-2, 1-2 UFC) will return to the UFC cage to compete. This time, she is paired against Thai striker “Loma Lookboonmee” Suphisara (6-2, 3-1 UFC). The highest of any fight on the card, the betting line that this strawweight fight goes the distance is a massive -275 to -300 depending on your book. Referee Herb Dean is in it for the long haul if need be, and there is no glove touch between the ladies to commence the action. Instead, Godinez is ready to start slinging leather, with punches to close the distance and not allow Suphisara to get her kicks off. This forward movement does not stay for long, as Suphisara aims kicks to the body and head from range. Godinez goes after a head-and-arm toss, and Suphisara reverses it and puts Godinez on her back instead. “Loopy” springs back up to her feet, and they jockey for position against the fence. As soon another throw gets set up, Godinez breaks away instead and gets kicked in the chest by the Thai. Godinez scores a three-punch combination that ends with a back fist, and Suphisara shrugs it off and gets back to kicking distance. A kick to the body and one to the head partially land, and Godinez charges in to pursue a takedown. They scramble, drop to their knees, and pummel back and forth in the tight clinch. A knee gets through from “Loma Lookboonmee,” who staves off any takedown try and forces Godinez to again break. Suphisara goes up high with a kick, and when she puts her leg down, Godinez greets her with a solid right hand. Suphisara lets loose a kick that gets caught, and Godinez takes advantage of this with an inside trip that puts the Thai on her back with seconds left in the ground. Godinez cannot land a strike from above before the round ends.

Round 2
The round opens with Godinez pushing the pace with a punch salvo, backing Suphisara up to the wall. As soon as Suphisara tries to return fire, Godinez lifts her up and slams her to the mat, where she claims half guard in an instant. “Loopy” is quick to pass through to side control, and she puts her knee on Suphisara’s neck to slug her in the face a few times. This odd position allows the Thai to explode out, where she jumps back up to her feet but cannot get Godinez off of her. Instead, Godinez keeps a tight grip around Suphisara’s waist, even going after a standing rear-naked choke as she bullies Suphisara to the wall. This allows Suphisara to throw her over her head to put Godinez down, but Godinez springs right back to her feet as if nothing happened. A few heavy kicks get through from “Loma Lookboonmee,” including a head kick that may have gotten Godinez’ attention. To stop these from coming, Godinez snatches a leg and wrenches Suphisara down to the ground. In half guard, Godinez keeps her elbow pressed on Suphisara’s head to hold her down, and she lands a few left hands every so often. With Suphisara stuck with her side and then head on the wire in the corner between the cage and the floor, she twists to break the posture. Godinez follows her along, taking her back and considering a choke effort. There is no choke to be found, and when the horn sounds, they are tied up and need to be untangled to get back to their corners.

Round 3
Godinez stretches her arm out to offer a glove touch, but Suphisara would rather fight it out from the get-go. “Loopy” acknowledges this and goes down for a single, where she is able to plop the Thai down to the ground without much concern. As they scramble, Suphisara turns the tables to get on top for a moment, where she scores a few elbows. As Suphisara gets on top, Godinez hunts for a heel hook and uses it to turn Suphisara off of her. Suphisara is able to slide her knee out and get out of submission danger by spinning around, and she slides down into Godinez’ guard. A few elbows from Godinez on her back land to the back of the head, but there is no note of them as Suphisara continues to try to pass. Godinez carries on with elbows to keep Suphisara honest, and Suphisara responds in kind. Godinez is able to power her way back upright, and Suphisara clings to her and knees her in the thigh and midsection repeatedly. Suphisara jumps away when Godinez attempts to take her down, and Godinez gathers herself, pursues a double and slams the Thai down to the canvas. Godinez gets half guard with ease, and then she takes Suphisara’s back when Suphisara looks to stand up. Without landing much from above, Godinez cannot keep Suphisara down for long. They both rise up in the clinch, and Suphisara gets off a few short strikes before the final bell.

Expert Picks (7)
Angelo is confident in Loopy Godinez, citing her size, strength, and wrestling advantage. He notes Loma Lookboonmee is a good Muay Thai striker but undersized, and Loopy will bully her to the ground with takedowns. He placed a full unit moneyline bet at -150. He expects Loopy to be busy on top and win a decision or possibly get a stoppage.
Big Brady picks Loopy Godinez to win by submission. He argues that Godinez's loss to Luana Carolina was misleading because she moved up a weight class and faced a much larger opponent with great takedown defense. He believes Godinez is the much better grappler than Loma Lookboonmee and that Lookboonmee has been taken down and controlled in previous fights. He predicts Godinez will implement a wrestling-heavy game plan and find a submission.
Cody picks the underdog Lookboonmee. He argues that Godinez is not as good a wrestler as believed, citing her struggles against Jessica Pineda and Luana Carolina. He notes that Godinez has fought multiple times recently and may suffer from burnout. Lookboonmee has improved her wrestling under the Hickman brothers and has a striking advantage. Cody believes Lookboonmee can stuff takedowns and win on the feet, or even take Godinez down herself.
Daniel Levi confidently picks Loma Lookboonmee, citing her superior striking and takedown defense. He notes that Loma has a huge striking edge with her muay thai background and is comfortable defending takedowns against the cage. He criticizes Godinez for being a simple fighter who relies on force rather than technique. Levi believes Loma will win two of three rounds and survive any grappling success from Godinez.
Lock believes Godinez is being underrated. He notes that Godinez is a better wrestler than she showed against Luana Carolina, who is much bigger. At her natural weight class, her size and wrestling will matter. He thinks Godinez will have success with takedowns and top control, and that Lookboonmee is too small for 115. He also mentions Godinez has better striking than people give her credit for.
Paul agrees with Cody and bets Lookboonmee. He notes that Godinez's wrestling is overrated and she looked burnt out in her last fight. He thinks Lookboonmee's striking is superior and her takedown defense has improved. Paul is confident that Lookboonmee can keep the fight standing and win a decision or even get a finish.
The MMA Guru picks Loma Lookboonmee over Loopy Godinez. He notes that Godinez is taking the fight on short notice and has shown poor takedown defense, especially against Luana Carolina where she got stuffed and kneed to the body. He highlights Lookboonmee's excellent takedown defense and clinch work, particularly knees to the body. He expects Lookboonmee to stuff takedowns, land knees, and win by decision.

Angelo picks Sijara Eubanks but is hesitant due to her cardio issues and age. He notes Eubanks has good wrestling and a BJJ black belt, and her cardio seemed fixed in her last fight. Luana Carolina is a striker with good clinch work and 90% takedown defense, but Angelo questions the quality of opponents. He believes Eubanks will eventually get takedowns and control the fight, but the odds are too wide. He considers prop bets but is unsure.
Big Brady picks Loopy Godinez (referred to as Eubanks) as the clear winner, citing her superior striking and ground game. He notes Godinez is a black belt with submissions, while Carolina has questionable ground game but good takedown defense. He has concerns about Godinez's age and weight cut affecting her gas tank, but still expects a win.
Cody is high on Godinez, noting her improved grappling and boxing. He believes she can win on the feet with clean technical boxing or take the fight to the ground where Carolina is weak. He points out Carolina's poor grappling and suspect cardio, and thinks Godinez's skills translate well regardless of the weight class.
Daniel picks Luana Carolina as a slight underdog, feeling the line is too wide. He notes that Luana has paid more dues in the UFC and showed improvement in her last fight against Poliana Botelho. He compares Loopy Godinez to Jessica Andrade but thinks Luana's Muay Thai and experience with power punchers (like Priscila Cachoeira) give her a chance. He calls it a dog-or-pass situation and expects a close decision.
Godinez is a much better wrestler than anyone Carolina has faced, and Carolina's takedown defense is untested against high-level grappling. Godinez will close the distance, take the fight to the ground, and likely finish via submission or ground-and-pound. The inside distance prop at +255 is excellent value.
Paul does not make a clear pick, expressing concern about the size disparity and the possibility of the fight being scrapped due to weight issues. He notes Carolina's reach advantage and that Godinez is moving up in weight on short notice.
The MMA Guru picks Loopy Godinez (referred to as Ciara Eubanks) due to her tougher competition and physical strength. He criticizes Luana Carolina's ground game and predicts Godinez will make it messy, get takedowns, and win by ground-and-pound TKO in the first or second round. He emphasizes Godinez's masculinity and power.

Angelo is very confident in Loopy Godinez, calling her a former lock of the week. He highlights her wrestling, solid striking with power, and clean boxing. He notes she was robbed in her last fight against Jessica Penne. He has two bets: Loopy inside the distance at plus 315 and Loopy minus 3.5 points at plus 110. He thinks she will dominate and possibly finish.
Big Brady likes Loopy Godinez, noting her strength, striking power, and wrestling. He points out that Sam Hughes is very hittable with 40% striking defense, and Godinez hits hard despite no knockouts. He believes Godinez will dominate on the feet and can also take the fight to the ground if needed. He predicts a dominant decision win, as Hughes is tough but will get pieced up for 15 minutes.
Cody leans toward Godinez but is not confident due to the short notice and lack of tape on Juarez. He notes Godinez has crisper boxing and UFC experience, but her ring IQ was questionable in her debut. He expects a competitive fight and is hesitant to lay -360.
Daniel Levi leans toward Loopy Godinez because she has UFC experience and fought a full 15-minute fight, while Silvana Gómez Juárez is on short notice. He expects an aggressive, entertaining striking battle and believes Godinez's power and forward pressure will be key. He notes both are prideful and expects a brawl.
Jacob is very high on Loopy Godinez, calling her a next-level fighter who will compete for a title soon. He likes her at minus 200 and thinks she will finish the fight early. He notes her value in DraftKings at $8,600. He expects her to dominate Sam Hughes with her wrestling and pressure.
The host picks Silvana Gómez Juárez as an underdog, impressed by her striking combinations and calf kicks. He notes Godinez's fight IQ issues and tendency to put herself in bad positions. He believes Juárez's experience and cleaner striking will lead to a decision victory, though he cautions about her weight cut on short notice.
Paul has no strong opinion on this fight. He notes the line is wide and he hasn't seen enough of Juarez. He is not interested in laying -360 on Godinez given her poor debut and the uncertainty of the matchup.
The MMA Guru picks Loopy Godinez to win by unanimous decision, citing her previous win over Juárez and her youth. He criticizes Juárez for quitting in her last fight against Tecia Torres and believes Godinez's grappling and cardio will be decisive.

Expert Picks (6)
Big Brady picks Loopy Godinez to win by dominant decision. He notes that Penne is 38 years old, hasn't fought in nearly four years, and hasn't won in six years. He believes Godinez has a massive striking advantage and is strong enough to get back up if taken down. He expects Godinez to stuff takedowns and out-strike Penne. He does not see a finish likely as Godinez has no knockout wins and Penne is tough to submit. He considers Godinez a parlay piece but not in his own parlay.
Cody is very high on Godinez, praising her boxing, takedown defense, and cardio. He thinks Penne is old (38), has been out for years due to USADA, and has a history of getting hit and bleeding. He expects Godinez to keep the fight standing and win by decision or late TKO. He likes the third round finish prop at 16-1.
Daniel Levi picks Loopy Godinez, noting her crisp hands and toughness. He questions what happens if the fight goes to the mat, as Godinez's competition has been subpar, but believes she will piece up Jessica Penne on the feet. Levi mentions that Penne is nearing 40 and has been through a lot, including a USADA case, and that she has shown hesitancy in recent fights. He expects Godinez to win, possibly by knockout.
Manpreet picks Godinez by decision, but with hesitation due to Penne's long layoff and Godinez's unproven level. He believes Godinez's boxing and pressure will overwhelm Penne, who is 38 and has been away for four years. He expects Godinez to out-strike Penne over three rounds, though he notes Penne's submission threat if the fight goes to the ground.
Paul agrees with Cody, noting that Godinez has crisp boxing and power for 115 lbs. He thinks Penne's stand-up is marginal and she has been finished by elite fighters. He likes the under 2.5 rounds at +255 and Godinez by knockout. He is confident in Godinez winning.
The MMA Guru picks Loopy Godinez to win by close decision. He doubts Jessica Penne's dedication after a long layoff since 2017, suggesting she may not have been training. He notes Godinez has a decent amateur career and some good wins, though not amazing. He believes Penne's mind may not be in the fight at 38 years old.
